Pfleger is totally manufactured psyop-story to distract from McClellan
The White House's former Number One Shill just told everyone his bosses lied to attack Iraq. No news to anyone, except it's coming from him now.

And the airwaves are awash in what? A pastor made a clown of himself? This is a completely manufactured story - they could be devising one just like it every day of the yhear just using statements by pastor-clowns.

4. Not my point...
I mean really, who cares? Pastor, comedian, entertainer... these are often indistinguishable. So some guy did a comedy routine in a church the other day, and this is news? This is a reason to bump McClellan to the number three story?

5. Good point.
When was this supposed to have taken place? Last Sunday? And it's just coming out now?

It's a non-story.

6. What about the "Obama needs to visit Iraq" crap?
A 527 group calling itself "Vets for Freedom" is trying to swiftboat him right now by running commercials with that steaming pile of a message.

8. Yeah, that was the No. 2 story, after Pfleger...
Edited on Fri May-30-08 05:23 PM by JackRiddler
On CNN. Then they did an attack piece on Susan Sarandon (who the frack cares? I've heard 20,000 people say something like that in my life), and after commercials, on comes McClellan.

And of course they're attacking him for saying things as an employed organizational shill that contradict what he's saying now for himself. I've watched the story transition from the relevant question - "Should there be war crimes trials for the Bush administration?" to the super-relevant "Does McClellan owe the American people an apology?" for not saying this stuff earlier.

15. Yup, imagine people connected the most obvious dots...
The Pentagon psyop program with the military "analysts" for example.

How can they expose themselves? We all know the media have played the most essential role in this all along.

28. Here's a thought too -
whatever you think of Clinton, it's good for a guy like this to get a public drubbing for delivering "a tirade against Mrs. Clinton that included fake tears, a high-pitched voice and top-of-the-lungs screaming."

That kind of crap is sexist and says more about his opinion of women (high-pitched voice and screaming) than it says of either Senators Clinton or Obama.

21. Less Than 24-Hour Shelf Life
The Snotty story will dance on a few more days. He'll make the tours of the Sunday food fights then onto Tweetyball and The Daily Show on Monday...and even BillO's den of iniquity. The corporate media is fascinated by this book...for all the wrong reasons...they won't discuss how complicit they were but sure like dishing out the dirt on a regime that no longer serves their purposes. Bashing this regime is now good business...it brings ratings and as long as it does anyone who have dirt on booosh and cheney will get the limelight.

The Pflager story is going to the well one time too many. Yep, it's a definite distraction from Snotty (Faux rolled it out right as Snotty's first excerpts came out)...looks like they had this one in the can ready to go. It also apepars to be an attempt to divert attention from Gramp's Hagee/Parsley/Lobbyist problems and trying to force Obama onto the defensive.

The other day I saw some bobblebabe on MSNBC trying to do the faux outrage...that Pflager and Wright said "God Damn" and somehow that is some mortal sin. Yet nary a boo when it's talking about Katrina being "revenge" on gays or Catholicism being a "whore" religion or Jews being used as props for Armagedon. Guess that doesn't hit on her "outrage" meter.

The other problem with Pflager...he's not a scary black man.

22. True that...
Pfleger (who didn't say anything of note) has the style of every white-guy performer-clown unconscious of his wannabe-black. But are you telling me Rev. Wright was scary? It's scary that people would think so.

Otherwise, all well said. They want to use Scott to bash Bush but they also want to kill Scott for the implicit conclusion that they were the faithful (and all-important) water-carriers for outrages and lies. So McClellan's ideal as a number 3 story. No one should get too much the idea this is serious, or that up to 1974 or so would have constituted the final piece of a certain and rapid impeachment and conviction.

24. It's The Image Being Played
Personally, I love Reverend Wright. Yep, he went over-the-top, but it was in mocking those who are so pompous (corporate media) or just can't let go of their stereotypes and hatred...and that also has led to him being used as what I've called the "scary black man".

Wright was used as a thinly vieled cause to unleash the usual GOOP racism and vitriol. Their plausible deniability was that it wasn't what Wright looked like (despite running the video endlessly to gain the maximum Pavlovian response) it was what he said..."UnAmerican" (as though these chickenshits really know what that means). It allowed the racists to come out of their sheets and attempt to claim different. They did the same number to Michelle Obama and I'm certain we'll hear other "guilt-by-association" games and other attempts to scare people with the scepter not of Obama, but of those who identify with him...be it by ideology or skin color. It's time to call this shit for what it is...and the corporate media just passes it along.

They can't play that game with Pflager...even though they'll try. He's too white and too catholic to be a scary black man.

Hope that clarifies.

Cheers...

25. By now, it's just one entry in a more general "preacher stunts" category...
Hagee, Parsley, Pfleger -- it's not just Wright anymore. By now, people are used to this sideshow.

McClellan is by far the bigger story, and I do think that the MSM mostly recognize that -- if number of stories printed and amount of commentary count for anything.

26. MSM puts on a circus act to distract the left
one has to up their psychological/social IQ to be able to see through all the techniques being used.

Character assassination
Fear language
NLP techniques and subliminal messages and images
Scratching at collective wounds to invoke infighting
saturation of news with small crimes while ignoring the corporate level corruption
domestic militarization
quickly eclipsing an important story with a non event

The curtain is being pulled back to reveal the truth. What would happen if these methods stopped working?

29. oh yeah, it's multi-leveled, enormously complex...
organic and planned at the same time. A constant daily assault, several messages of ideology and commerce and deep-psychological manipulation sent in each frame.

I ask always, what happens when these methods stop working, but I wonder if they will, or if people will know the first thing to do when they do.
