1. Anything is possible with these goons but remember
when a relationship sours, the most loving of couples or groups become cannibals. I'm seriously enjoying the feeding frenzy.

2. Wondering in the wee hours: He said he would testify.... is that a set up?
That GOP stunt with impeaching Clinton did not seem to be the vaccine against the whole idea of impeachment they had hoped for. Perhaps a more spectacular failure at impeachment is a tool they need to use against future interference with the Imperial Presidency?

Much as I want to believe Scotty is truly contrite, there are doubts.

If he can and wants to testify, and he can tell tales that will bust cheney/scooter wide open, why has dick let him live this long?

Yeah, something does seem fishy.

and with damn good reason.

5. McClellan, as Press Sec, was a weasel, but he wasn't a liar.
He was furious when he found that he'd been manipulated into lying to the press.

I don't find this fishy. In McClellan, we finally found someone in the administration who had an appreciation for the truth.

(As much as I dislike John Ashcroft, he, too, had great integrity. And both are gone.)

10. He Broke The Omarta...
This regime works so much like the syndicate...and it's not what Snotty said, it's the fact he said it...he broke the secret code and thus must be destroyed.

Until last year, no Repugnicans didn't turn on each other...the "Raygun 11th Commandment", but losing elections and the splintering of the party has changed things. The party and this regime is imploding on its own arrogance and greed and we're seeing the first real turf battles in what I expect will be many more. It's the "who lost the GOOP" game...as all in that inept coven are trying to do what they do best...pass the blame and not assume responsibility. Even Snotty has troubles saying that he's sorry for telling the lies he did (and I'm certain he knew he was doing that) as part of the job...he's just trying to get ahead of the crowd in putting his spin on history out there. Now if what he says is truth, time will tell...so will others who have a story to sell and want to jump ship.

Actually I think we're seeing one of the last efforts of the "Mighty Wurlitzer"...the GOOP media slime machine with the same talking points and attack the messenger approach. They've cried wolf too many times and many see this attempt to slime Snotty as pure vengence...if anything I've see sympathy building for the little guy.

guess is that they are trying in inject a 'little truth' into the system to get people to believe in the delusion again that we have a honest press that is not being manipulated.

Propaganda, in order to be believed and successful, must have seeds of truth dispersed in it in order to get people to buy into it.

On Edit: I have been thinking on the same lines you in the last couple of days.

12. I am inclined to think
that Scott is trying to generate some hearings or investigations with the hope that he will be offered some kind of immunity. He could them testify, clearing his conscious, (if he has one) and keep his slimy ass from facing legal action. I wanted to say prosecuted with Bu$h/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rice but I doubt if any of them will face anything more than a slap on the hand. Its those on the lower rungs of the ladder that will be punished, if anyone is.

13. It was reported that bush seems to think
he can stop Scotty from testifying before the Senate Committee. I wonder how he plans to do that? If Scotty wants to testify, nothing short of taking him into custody will stop him.

14. I suspect that McClellan will endorse McCain and the point will be that it's OK to be anti-Bush and
still vote R in the fall, which will help pull some Dem votes and hold R. votes...
