Poll question: Do you have any direct investment in oil?
Are you playing the futures market on oil? If not why not? The Peak Oil folks are telling us that it can do nothing but go up from here, that we will have %150 oil by July 4. So there is a ton of money to be made and all you have to do is make a phone call to get in on the action. You too can become rich and have been able to for the last couple of months.

So tell me, are you invested in oil?

1. I invested in it 50 years ago. Before it was treasonous.

4. I could have invested in oil at $30.00 a barrel:
however, it is blood money and people all over the world are dying for this sh*t. So, I did not do it. No regrets either!

5. Yes investing, no on futures.

I am invested in a couple of oil related companies. Their dividends, paid quarterly, are enough to cover my gasoline, car insurance and license plates. Every year.

I am not betting for or against peak oil. I am just taking a portion of their cashflows and letting them pay me to use their stuff.

9. There are some things I won't do for money
Robbing a bank, embezzlement, investing in oil futures and the like. I still love this country and humanity too much to become a complete parasite.

13. I would never invest in something against my spiritual principles
I am invested in alternative energy (and actually looking for new companies if anyone has any tips.)

But my state is heavily involved with the oil industry and raking in billions. They give us a dividend from the profits every year, and are discussing giving us each $100 per month to help defray current gas/energy prices as well as subsidizing the energy companies and lowering our energy prices by 60%. So I do feel a bit conflicted but I will use savings/dividends to invest in alternative energy to help my conscience.

16. My portfolio has been heavily weighted in oil
over the last two years. I've made a lot of money over that time span. Last year's returns were 60% and this year is 28% YTD. Over that time span, oil related investments has fluctuated between 20% and 80% of my portfolio. Currently, I'm about 25% weighted in oil
