...for over a week.I've never watched him before, because his voice drives me nuts....however,I refuse to watch CNN in the morning anymore.Don Imus has been very critical of the administration the entire time I have watched him.I know-everyone says he'll be back to fellating Liebermann eventually, but I don't see anyone else speaking the way he does in the MSM(except Keith)...and am having a hard time understanding the hatred.I thought we wanted to encourage this in the MSM?

3. I'll be honest-in the short time i've watched him-he's never mentioned Santorum
although-that would trouble me and be a direct contradiction of what I've seen. However, that aside, shouldn't we encourage such bold language regarding the poor leadership? He sounds like a lot of us sometimes...

being investigated by the FBI?

7. Good morning, w8liftinglady.
Good to see you on line. I've got an hour before I need to head out. Please do threads on the hearings today. I won't be able to track any of it except to periodically check into DU.

Meachem's on Imus now. That guy's turning himself into a pretzel trying to sell Rudy and the Rs.

14. This morning was the first time I have actually felt like
throwing up re: Slimus.
I used to have some small amount of reserved respect for Meachum but both their attempts to slime Clinton and Obama for speaking at one of the "holiest" of days, "in search of democrat votes" and Meachum's attempt, with Slimus' support, to garner some credit for his contemptible publication in the outing of bush's army's lack of human concern for the conditions at WR were what made my gorge almost overflow.

Slimus's earlier attempt to beat up on legislators for nobody knowing or doing anything about those conditions included several new senators and I was particularly outraged by his singling out the brand new shiny senator from Missouri instead of placing the blame where it really belongs.

Also notice whom he avoided mentioning-Lumpball, Hannity, himself and the whole host of wingy bloviators whose purported support for the troops is a daily ration in their beating up on liberals.

He and his rabid right wing compadres are sickening.

16. I can't group him with limbaugh...not defending him,but
he kind of falls in the Ed Schultz genre...and wouldn't it be better to support the times when he does speak out against the administration(and he does).I mean,in radio-ratings are everything.

15. He keeps asking if Susan Sarandon knew, why didn't the brass know
He said that Susan Sarandon called him over 6 weeks ago before the article even came out. He said if an actress knew what was going on how can anyone in this administration claim that they didn't know. He really has stood up for her.

Once he gets his teeth on an issue, he won't let up. Unfortunately, you have to take good with the ugly with Imus.

18. I have a hard time with Imus
he was "very" pro war in the beginning and also one of the biggest Bushbots I had ever seen at the start. I guess I should just be thankful he's not anymore. It's so hard to forget though.

20. I know..and he likes McCain...my point being
when a media guy has the guts to defy the status quo..even if it's with one issue-shouldn't we support that, instead of crucifying the entire individual?

24. You make a very good point, don't give up.
Imus is a lying, arrogant, rude, self aggrandizing, selfish, ignorant, elastic, nasty republican. The enemy of my enemy is definitely not necessarily my friend.

Furthermore, just as it may not be appropriate to crucify the entire individual because he does make a good move, on rare occasion, it is also inappropriate to deify him simply because, in the mass of his stupidity, he stumbles across an issue he can accumulate some pro points on. To paraphrase-even a blind, arrogant, recidivist, stupid pig can find a gold plated acorn of decency once in a while (and recognize it as an issue he can ride to ratings.)

I don't like him, for sufficient reason, and I..do..not..trust..him...
