2. After the election there will be little time left to rob the country blind
before their asses are on the street. I said $6.50, but I may be low. Well it will do away with all that nasty Christmas shopping.

5. It will be near $4.50 around XMas
Because they're going to lower it for the election. On election day, it will be just under $3 after a gradual decline throughout October. Immeidiately after the election, it will begin to rise again. By inauguration it will probably have broken $5, maybe $6 depending on what they think they can get away with.

7. How many of you think gas prices are going to drop right before the November elections?
I remember gas prices nosedived right before the 2006 mid-term elections. Despite that, Repubs lost both houses of Congress.

9. They'll drop and stay down until some "event" under Dems watch "drives them up"
Just watch. I predict 3.50 by x-mas, 5.50 by the fourth of '09.

8. Please keep this kicked until 12-24-08
I'll do my part.

imho the OPEC cartel will not let gas get too expensive. I doubt we will see $5.00 per gallon gas until sometime in 2009 or 2010.

10. I'd say about $3.50 is reasonable between lower demand overall and seasonal lower usage
I'm hoping the current "bubble" will have been deflated somewhat by then.

11. It'll Be Lower Than It Is Now
The current rise is caused by a bubble, and it will pop soon. It's obvious that there's no shortage - at least I haven't seen any gas stations that are out of gas.

12. $5.50. And I look forward to seeing fewer SUVs and dumbass pickups up on the road!
The small car future is a delightful prospect.
