9. Gore didn't want to endorse anyone until AFTER the primary process

had been decided. He endorsed Howard Dean in 2003 for much of the same reasons he endorsed Obama this year. Unfortunately for us all, Gore's endorsement of Dean triggered Kerry's and Gephardt's scumbags to torpedo Dean's campaign. I think Gore didn't want a repeat of that skulduggery.
