Bush to Visit Iowa to Inspect Damage From Heavy Storms, Floods
By Holly Rosenkrantz

June 17 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush said he'll go to Iowa on June 19 where federal officials are helping to make sure people have enough drinking water and other emergency supplies.

``We're concerned about those who lost their homes and lost their business,'' Bush said at the White House after meeting with federal disaster officials. ``Now that the water is beginning to recede, the question is how do we help with the recovery?''

Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana and Nebraska have been declared federal disaster areas from heavy storms and flooding, triggering low-cost federal loans and grants.

Flooded U.S. Midwest states should get a respite from thunderstorms this week, after rains yielded to sunshine yesterday, with drier conditions for most of the Midwest the next few days, forecasters said.

When an earthquake struck the old Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev who was in
meetings w/ H.W. Bush @ the time told the President he had to go home right
now and that he did ..... When a tropical storm hit Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula
President Fox of Mexico left his meeting with other American leaders and went
to the Yucatán Peninsula to help the people ... but good old George had to stay
in Europe to tell Gordon Brown to stay in Iraq and the rest of the European leaders
what a threat Iran is to the world.

1. Just What They Needed...
A traveling circus that will tie up all sorts of resources as his assholiness goes from one photo-op to the next. What does this shitstick have to offer? Kudos go to Governor Culver for handling much of this crisis with the resources he has. The best thing boooshie-boy could do is give Culver several billion dollars to help in recovery and stay the hell away.

BTW...where's Gramps? I don't think he's been in Iowa since Hucklenuts beat him in the primary.

4. The mayor of Marion Iowa was on last Sunday .....
.... and he was great ... The City of Cedar Rapids was hit but his town wasn't
so he had the Police & Fire Depts. move to his town .... 9/11 too ... he put
a limit on water use and and had the people of Marion host some people
from Cedar Rapids ... and bunch of other things too ... after a few minutes
he told the reporter that he had to go and "because he had things to do."

bush needs to stay the hell out .... the National Guard would be help too.

8. We Have An Iowa Refugee Staying Down The Block
I saw the "Lynn" County on the license plate and chuckled. It turns out this is the sister of a neighbor...lives near Cedar Rapids but just wanted to get away. Her home is safe but the city is all shut down, she hadn't been to work since last Wednesday and she doesn't expect things to clear up until sometime next week...so she loaded the kids in the van and headed here. She said there's no reason for her to be in the way.

While this flooding has been bad...and we're not out of the woods, yet, many of the lessons of '93 were learned (especially in Des Moines)...and fortunately I suspect the recovery will be quick in many areas.

Bubble Boy will show up now that things are starting to improve and take a victory lap. Typical bullshit...and a reason so many people detest this poor excuse for protoplasm.

old w/ Brownie & Chertoff .... as they took Helicopters away from the
rescue for props in this stupid photo op.

13. Then There's His Speech In Jackson Square
The city was in complete darkeness, but they flew in generators to light up the French Quarter and Jackson Square so he could do his little TV spiel...

Then as soon as it was over, off went the generators and the town went dark again. Shameless

Or there was the story Senator Landreau talked about of where the Corp put all sorts of materials and bodies to appear to be shoring up the 17th Street Canal when booooshie and the cameras were there...and then she flew over the area a couple hours later and all that remained was one crane and a handful of engineers.

I was in NOLA last March and many of the locals spit at the mention of the boooosh family name.

2. This Would Be A Good Question

To ask bush the next time he is interviewed or hold another lame White House presser...

Why didn't you????

5. Hey, it was tea with the Queen
Some things just take priority, don't you know that? He was on his farewell tour.

Personally, if I was in Iowa, I would be happy the chimp didn't come for a photo op while we were trying to work.

6. Can't someone just make a pop-up book about it?
That way, Bush can look at it without impeding rescue and recovery efforts.

14. ...from 9,000 feet in AF1, of course.
The people of Iowa and Illinois (and perhaps more) don't need his smirky ass there staging another photo-op to show what a friggin' humanitarian he is.

Yo, boosh: Just sign the papers authorizing the release of aid and workers, dipshit. You CAN still make an "X" on the paperwork, can't you?
