Breaking: Tim Russert is still dead after 6 days...
Why is this still news worth discussing? Every time I look at the TV someone s bringing him up, or they are having a special segment about him.

They covered John-Paul's death less, as I recollect. I cannot imagine a scenario where Tim Russert wouldn't be sort of pissed off about this.

10. If it weren't for PBS and music...
I wouldn't either. I'm a slave to both. But I'm proud to say I've never watched American Idol, nor do I watch NASCAR. I will watch bull riding... and baseball, though. No basketball... not since they got all hinky with the rules and refs. Shoot... they don't even call traveling anymore... but I digress.

I agree about the basketball. The traveling and palming are horrendous in the "association". Havent watched in about 18 years. Last time Magic and Byrd were still playing.

7. My tinfoil hat is buzzing...
:tinfoilhat:

Why do we need this pounded into us? Why is it important for us all to know what a wonderful, professional, ethical, honest, trustworthy man he was? Especially when we already know that he aided and abetted the Bush/Cheney Murder Machine, allowed Cheney to sit across the table from him a lie his yellow ass off, and he was a major source of incriminating information in the Plame case.

Just sayin'.

Yes, far more than the Pope, and John-Paul was loved by so many people throughout the world. Even non-Catholics loved him and revered him.

19. A lot of people are missing their loved ones who died in Iraq, on both sides.
Timmy and his fellow talking heads helped it happen.

If Timmy was half the man he was being made out to be, he would have stood up and said the war was a big lie.

Of course he didn't, he had all the money to think about.

He was making $6 million a year, that seemed more important.

The coverage of his death has been over the top, he wasn't that important.

22. Very well said!
There are thousands of mothers, fathers, children, wives, brothers, and sisters who are without their loved one. THOUSANDS! And Russert let them all down by facilitating their deaths.

...I mean seriously, no one gave a shit about the guy, he was just another talking head on TV, now they're acting like he's the fucking reason we have running water.

Tim Russert, nice guy, decent journalist, but for fucks sake, people die. THAT'S LIFE. Can we move on already?

Since he's no longer capable of journalistically fellating Dick Cheney on national TV, he's well ahead of most of the members of the MSM.

43. It's the same principle behind why cops are more determined to find a
criminal when the person kills another cop. People tend to take care of their own. Not the best trait to have when you work in a position that serves the public, because the double standard is apparent and sends the wrong message.
