"It" takes a village

Back in the early months (perhaps even the first year) of the invasion of Iraq, I recall reading stories of villages whose entire teen and adult male populations were taken into custody by U.S. troops for shipment to the military's various prison camps. But now, all my Google-fu skills fail at finding any of those reports. Can anyone else remember them? Better still, can anyone provide links?
