Well, looks like I (and others) were right about Obama....
From Dec 13th:

OBAMA+BUSH=OBAMABUSH -> MABUS (nostradamus Anti-Christ prediction)

Yep folks, people really believe that shit:

-------------------------------------------

Is Barack Obama the antichrist?
Barack Obama and antichrist seem to flow well together. He posseses many of the characteristics depicted in the book of Relevations. He has middle-eastern descent, his name, "Barack", means "blessed", he is cunning, and is a powerful speaker. He has considered running for president in 2008. Nostradamus prophesized the name of the antichrist is "Mabus." This can relate to why Obama is the antichrist. If you write obama+bush, you end up with obamabush. Do you spot "mabus" in the middle? Bingo. This is a strong indication that Obama will succeed Bush as president in 2008, further confirming the prohpecy. This is my personal take on the antichrist. I want to hear your thoughts. Is Obama the next antichrist? thanks.

I think you are right, he will be the next President of the United States and that means that possibly by definition he will become the anti-christ. We all know that 2012 is the year of the anti-christ and that whoever is elected President in the next election will precide over the coming of the anti-christ. I never thought that the next President would BE the anti-christ as I thought it would more likely be someone in the Middle East.

He also fits the profile in other ways! We know the anti-christ is described as a 'young' man and that he does not know at this point in history that he 'is' the anti-christ. It all fits.

I am not 100% convinced it is him, but I think it is very likely. Thank you for your wonderful insight!

MABUS: Nostradamus named the Anti-Christ as Mabus. Now try this on for size: OBAMA+BUSH=OBAMABUSH. Now look at the middle few letters of the word. MABUS 2. ...

------------------------------------------

Just google nostradamus obama (if you remember the tv special from the 90's I think it was, maybe 80's, about nostradamus they said that during the end times an angry black man would stand up fight the anti-christ in the new city, which they took to mean America - so from that point of view one could say that Obama was predicted to win and save the world....)

God I love these people :)

Nostradamus Obama Prophecies Revealed

Source: The Daily Squib - UK

WASHINGTON DC - USA - Professor Eugene Randell, Deputy Director of the Smithsonian Institution Archives has released information pertaining to the up and coming US elections.

The Institute which holds some very rare Nostradamus manuscripts, believes that some of the quatrains written by the 16th century soothsayer are very close to describing the fight for the White House that is happening now.

"We have the only existing fourth edition of Nostradamus' book Les Propheties (The Prophecies). There were thought to be only three editions published in 1558, this new edition is from 1559 and includes 20 more quatrains which have never been revealed before -- that is, until now," Professor Randell said from the archive office on Tuesday.

The great empire will be torn from limb,
The all-powerful one for more than four hundred years:
Great power given to the dark one from slaves come,
The Aryana will not be satisfied thereby.

1. Obama should be getting all the Left Behinder votes then
If the anti-Christ is Biblical prophesy, then to vote against him is to thwart the will of God. I mean, am I missing something here?

3. It makes the head spin
Like in the movie the Exorcist.

They want the anti-christ to be here and usher in the end, they claim Obama is the AC, and then they rail against him as evil and such...well hell, I guess the RW never really made much sense anyway :)

Edited on Fri Jun-20-08 02:34 AM by mcctatas
or the whorehouse being straddled is in smurf village....

on edit, I thought you said AND a whorehouse, when I read it right, it totally makes sense, although I refuse to remove the smurf picture, I just love the Smurfs (but come to think of it, I've never actually watched them without partaking of an herbal supplement first;) )

6. Oh, More Nostradamus Crap
It's bunk, you know. People take a few lines he wrote (or attributed to him) put them together with other lines (written by Nostradamus or some one else) and claim it was a prediction. Lots of retrofitting.

8. Wasn't Mabus supposed to die?
and that was going to cause a horrible undoing of man and animals?

I'm not up on my kooky Christian biblical prophecy melded with occultism (which, I recall is supposed to be forbidden to Christians, anyways).

12. OMG!!!1111!1 The fundies have gone New Age.
We all know that 2012 is the year of the anti-christ

Isn't 2012 the end of the Mayan calendar and the New Age answer to Armageddon?

And they're quoting Nostradamus.

Oh, they seem a bit confused on geography too. He has middle-eastern descent. Lemme see here, American plus African. Yeah, that sounds like Middle East, I guess, if you believe the earth is 6000 years old, buy wacko shuffled and shredded interpretations of Revelation, believe that Nostradamus said anything comprehensible, that they just "found" new Nostradamus prophecies, and that the end of the Mayan calendar is the end of the world. The Middle East is, well, relatively close to Illinois, at least compared to whatever planet these people are from.

19. Book of Relevations?
Not even a Fundamentalist Atheist like me would make such a goofy error. Or pair of errors. (Revelation, singular.)

Oh well. I'm sure multiple copies of this splurge will soon be piling up in my Inbox.

Along with more Relevations about how John Lennon got shot because he said The Beatles were more popular than Jesus. (Got that one this morning.) They forgot to mention that 14 years elapsed between the quote and Lennon's death.

That whole splurge was interesting, in a train-wreck sort of way. It started with a quote about a loving God who is deeply interested in everyone's doings...sort of like the late Leonid Breshnev, it seems. Then went on to list a whole bunch of people who died in horrible ways because they rejected the "wonderful free offer."
