There ARE some real Americans left. Here's one:
God damn, I'd like to go to work for this guy:

Were I younger and more physically able, I'd be applying for a job working for him, minimum wage, no benefits, no problem.

What a guy. I'm impressed as hell by what he's doing, and I am not easily impressed.

2. My dear Redstone...
He is amazing!

I too am impressed!

I hope he can keep doing this, and that somehow he'll make some money so he can.

Thank you for bringing this bit of hope to us.

3. There's always hope. Americans may be, for the most part, selfish and cheap, but NOBODY
as a group is more generous than Americans. Nobody, anywhere in the world.

Whenever there's a disaster, here or abroad, the FIRST reaction of most Americans is "What can I do to help?" or "Where do I send some money to help?"

And then there are people like that guy. Only in America.

5. This was the kind of thing FEMA use to do.
They pulled in resources at reduced rate, pulled in volunteers, professionals and government equipment from around the country to restore and help at a disaster. They no longer do that anymore. They simply contract out for excessive fees and pump dollars into the crony closest to the disaster.

7. Reminds me of construction workers who headed toward ground zero on 9/11 when others were evacuating

There are many sheep dogs among the sheep, if we only let them do what come natural.

8. Abso-fucking-lutely. I'm sending this guy some money, even though (or, actually
because of the fact) that he hasn't asked for any financial contributions.

There goes a man, indeed.
