War With Iran Is About Oil, Not Nuclear Capability.
Take a look at the following chart. Print it out. Highlight the Iran line. Carry it around and give it out to anyone who thinks this war is about something other than oil...

U.S. Imports by Country of Origin

http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/pet_move_impcus_a2_nus_ep00_im0_mbblpd_a.htm

The U.S. does not get any of Iran's Oil. None. Zip. Nada.

Today at lunch the conversation turned to Iran. Most everyone agreed that Isreal and the US needed to take out their nuclear capability. I gave them the chart and asked a simple question, "How much oil do we get from Iran?"

Looks to me like we are going to STEAL their OIL and Isreal is going to help us do it.

2. This Administration and the oil companies think Iran stole THEIR oil in 1978-79
when the citizens deposed the Shah.

4. Exactly.
We were getting approx. 500,000 barrels per day until that time. It dropped to nothing virtually overnight.

7. Actually, it's not about oil.
It's about defiance. No one defies the U.S., especially not an OIL producer.

Ever since 1979, when the Iranians kicked out "Our Boy" the Shah, they have been in dangerous defiance of the U.S.
It's been that way ever since.
Just imagine the convulsions they must have had in Washington over this. I've read that the LOSS of Iran was so enormous, that they've never gotten over it. It was - incalculable.

There are very few countries which stand up to the Rogue U.S. Russia, China (to some extent), India (to some extent) and maybe little Easter Island but they are too small to matter.

So Yeah the battle with Iran is to a great extent the Make-it or Break-it for U.S. world domination. And I can tell you the balance of power is slipping away from the U.S. Absolutely no doubt: we're mega strong. But as long as oil prices keep going up, our strength is slipping away, and moving to Iran. In the form of $$$$ bank deposits $$$$$$$.

11. Right, Captain Obvious here...just wondering,
you do realize that this was intended to give people a TOOL to combat the ignorant masses...this chart is a GREAT tool to use when faced with the Nuclear talking point.

I use it often and thought it might help others...especially those who want to engage people in a dialogue...I have found that this particular chart rather succinctly SHUTS THE FUCKERS UP.

17. Oh dear me...I have no problem with the term...
I am actually happy with the term lately.

CT is a meme that has been proliferated to shame people like me into not thinking to critically - at least IMO.

I honestly took no offense...thank you for clarifying your position.
