Steny Hoyer FISA Ad To Run in Washington Post

Steny Hoyer FISA Ad To Run in Washington Post

http://www.opednews.com/articles/Steny-Hoyer-FISA-Ad-To-Run-by-Rady-Ananda-080620-472.html

Color of Change and Blue America PAC teamed up to run the ad in the Washington Post, placing the blame for the FISA travesty in the House squarely where it belongs -- on the shoulders of Steny Hoyer. It will appear next Thursday.

Our prisons are a mess. The drug laws are tremendously inequitable. And what does Steny Hoyer spend his time doing? Dispensing amnesty for high-dollar telecom donors, giving the Bush Administration more than they asked for, and covering his own ass for looking the other way in the face of abject criminal behavior for the past eight years.

This is just the beginning. We've now raised over $266,000 and we're working hard to put it to good use, and make sure a price is exacted for this abuse of the public trust. You can help by donating here.

4. I don't recall reading about..
Hoyer's plans until a couple of days ago. Was it known he was going to do a bait and switch before then?

5. I don't know, but the vote has been held. What will this ad prove now?
Unless the Senate does something miraculous, I think it's a waste of money.

11. Despite being late, I'm glad it will run
Steny needs to be tarred and feathered over this.

14. I don't agree. Hoyer and Pelosi have not been exposed to the general public. People still
think they are Democrats.

17. He has advocated passing this bill for months and months
He and Peloisi are just covering up their own complicity and they will get away with it just as will Bush* and Cheney and all the other thugs that have run amuck these last ten years or so..

12. They didn't have enough money til now...
I for one knew this was on the table... Guests on KO and Tweety talking
with evident pride about how House Dems were "showboating" and how Hoyer
would "fix things in the committee, and they'll vote for it, and end
this strange obsession, and do the right thing by clarifying that phone
companies are not to blame for essential surveillance that every member
of Congress supports..."

They had similar comments about "pandering to voters on NAFTA".
The commentators go into this "wink-wink nudge nudge, from one member
of the elite to another, the American people are all wet" mode.

9. Interesting... Hoyer's urban/rural district is heavily African American
In both the urban parts and the rural parts.

He has always been a git along good ol' boy.
