COME ON PEOPLE - COWBOY UP
To give into despair is to give these people what they want.

To sit out the election is to give these people what they want.

To vote 3rd party is to give these people what they want.

We're not quitters and we won't quit. Scream about it - let it be known - we're in it to win it - and we're in this to be the change and take our country back. They got this one - BUT - we've got plans.

So be pissed off - and then resolve to see to it that the country speaks loud and clear in November, 2008.

"These People" = the Bush Administration, the traitors to our republic, the cowardly and the afraid lawmakers.

7. Put your big girl/big boy britches on!
yes, it sucks - BUT its not a strike on Iran (yet) and its not another 9/11 in your city. This is correctable - and no one is dead.

We've been through worse. Unfortunately.

Or not talking about.

It certainly is and has been life threatening and life ending to many people so far unless I'm in some fifth dimension or parallel universe and have got it all wrong.

If this is what religion does then man am I glad I am not held in that framework.

Not me.

FISA is not 9/11.
FISA is not the Iraq War.
FISA is not Abu Gharib.
FISA is not Guantanamo.
FISA is not the flood in Iowa.
FISA is not the end.

Unless your form of spirtual is something else. What the hell has FISA doing that is any good . I know you don't seem to defend it but you seem to imply as if it means nothing.

How do you know FISA is not one of the reasons there are people being held and tortured?

29. Yes
spirituality has NOTHING in common with religion. But then religion usually doesn't have anything in common with Jesus Christ either.

I don't know that FISA hasn't been the reason people are being tortured. I know that some of them are there because they were from different tribes and some people were paid money to turn people in. So who better than an unknown from another tribe or an enemy tribe? I know that some people were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and had done nothing wrong.

And - I know the purpose wasn't necessarily a matter of innocence or guilt - but more of a matter of look at us - we can destroy the Constitution and Bill of Rights and the Geneva Convention and the people aren't going to be able to do shit about it. We can authorize torture - and no one is going to stop us.

But - they have been stopped - by the Supreme Court. They have been overruled. That decision leads us back to hope. And while this is bad, and a setback - its just not over and done yet.

They also thought they could politicize the Justice System and didn't think anyone would stop them. But they were stopped.

They also thought they could turn America into Nazi Germany with Karl Rove using Hitler's playbook. Who would stop them? Who could stop them?

Well - somebody did. All is not lost.

I suspect the government has been reading our emails & listening to us for years - but that doesn't make it right or legal or in line with the Constitution.

We stand with our heros - and we get rid of the traitors. One by one. It can be done.

36. they did not stop the torture at all
This is the third time the supreme court said the same thing and the bush admin ignores it. Nothing has changed there at all .

It's just a damn game to them .

when in your eye's is it over . when we are all in camps or those who dare to resist dead? This country may not be over yet but our government certainly is. It is over as far as a way out for many even though they are still breathing they have nowhere to turn and are on their own.

This is serious stuff and no one man as president is going to stop this.

Right now and since 2000 they have had the control and have got their way on everything. What's to stop them now or before 2008 Nov?

Bumper stickers and emails and protests, phone calls have gotten us nowhere , they are not listening to the people.

When we have the constitution shreaded we are in trouble.

Hero's , well who might they be , are they still alive?

Look , I'm happy you have all of this hope , I wish I shared it but I don't . My hope is when the people take action , not political hope.

I get the impression that somehow you feel nov 2008 will suddenly change everything in short order.

41. You're right there
they haven't stopped the torture - but they got caught.

The CIA agents have had to lawyer up. The military knows they do it - they will be held responsible. No doubt - it is Blackwater that is left to the task.

Who are the hero's? You are. Because you care, because you're upset. I am, nearly ever poster here is, everyone who gives a damn and acts on it is a hero.

Never under estimate yourself, or the triumph of the human spirit.

43.  we have known all along that they have been torturing people
So they got caught. They have places we don't even know about.

If we were heros we would have stood up in the millions to stop this long ago .

I am no hero because all I did was write and protest. This did nothing. Even if I stood in front of the capital and ended up shot no one would even know orhear about it and this would do no good .

I really doubt these people will pay for their crimes.

Keep telling yourself that one poseur in the WH is different than another.
The REAL power has to be in who we elect to Congress.
That is the REAL work that needs to be done.

You also need to get past the false paradigm that after January 19th, that just because your Hero is elected, that the new Boss will fix what the Old boss did.

Because even if he does prevail, you can hope for AT BEST things to change in an illusory way just enough to keep us all in check, but the reality is that the change YOU and I want is NOT going to come from this.

It isn't going to be that simple.

It is ultimately going to fall to We The People to take this country back. We must realize and admit to ourselves we no longer have a representative government that has any intention of serving the people's interests, obeying and following the Rule Of Law, and abiding by and defending the Constitution and Bill Of Rights.

This is no longer abut Left Or Right, Republican or Democrat, Conservative or Liberal.

it is about RIGHT and WRONG.

It is about We The People against a Criminal Government that has gone Rogue, and serves it's own interests, not the people's interests, and attends to it's own agenda at the EXPENSE of it's people.

I hate to break it to you, but essentially, for all intents and purposes.....

WE ARE ON OUR OWN.

I tell you this not to discourage you, not to break your spirit. Far from it and quite to the contrary. We NEED your spirit, your determination, your will, your fire, because that is what it will take to get this country back.

But you need to focus that spirit and energy and come to the realization of the circumstances which you and everyone else now find themselves.

WE NO LONGER HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT.

Getting our Hero elected is not going to solve anything, save for the ILLUSION of Change. Do not mistake me, I am going to Vote in November just like you, and I will Vote for Obama regardless.

But I will NOT live in the illusion of a false paradigm.

There will be much more work required to save this country, if it can still be done.

The Question will ultimately be, Do We The People have the courage to do what must be done?

We shall see.

18. Exactly.
We practically have to start all over as it is.

Wiretapping has been going on since 2001

The illegal war has been going on since 2003

Innocent people have been held in Guantanamo since 2001

We've had an illegal and illegtimate regime since 2000

We had 2 stolen elections

We had 9/11

We've got 1 million people dead in Iraq

We've got secret renditions

We've had Designated "Free Speech Zones".

Its been a very bad 7 1/2 years - and its not going to turn around over night.

And it will not end. Obama just released a statement
pledging that warrantless wiretapping will continue
in his administration and that this bill "solves" the legality issue.

Your optimism is overstated.

We've got how many satellites roaming around in space? They're there for a reason - they always have been and they're not going to be taken down.

I guess I learned alot from the movie - Enemy of the State - what year was that written? All the tools in the movie have been at the government's disposal for years and years - if you listen to what Gene Hackman's character says - he is speaking the truth. They have satellites that can focus on a blade of grass. Unfortunately, its rather unrealistic to think that the government doesn't know just about everything that goes on. Even Teddy Rosevelt said that.

If people were smart enough to know this & realize this - they would have been smart enough to put 2+2 together with 9/11. No "terrorists" (not poor men in a cave certianly) could have ever pulled that off. But alas, the people are not smart enough and therefore bought the government's story hook line & sinker. Perhaps had no one bought the shit - we wouldn't be where we are today.

---------------

Nice you awakened in 2000. Nice you notice what shrub, et. al., have been up to. Pretty cool you figured out big D Democrats aren't always what they're cracked up to be.

Some on this board have been fighting the good fight since long before 2000. Some on this board are aware that the machiavellian machinations have been going on with many names that may or may not, include bush.

Glad you figured part of it out.

What precisely changes in November, 2008? The savior of the Democrats? Yeah, saviors fare well in our society. The next Abe Lincoln? Oh yeah, that turned out well. The next JFK, Martin Luther King, RFK? Could you guys find better "messiahs" than the ones who were, uh, ya know, assassinated? Seriously.

Go cheer lead. The rest of us are taking a breather between rounds.
