I give up on writing and calling my Congresscritters. I give up trying to influence the party or the system from within. It doesn't work. At all.

Fundamentally, our "public servants" just don't give a shit about us.

They don't care.

The only thing that occupies their sociopathic minds is how to finagle more votes out of us, so they can accumulate more power.

To that end, they will give us an insincere smile, condescendingly pat us on the back, praise us for being concerned about our civil liberties, and make flowery speeches about defending our freedoms.

Then, they will stab us in the backs. They'll sell out our liberties, give the country away to the corporate robber-barons, and walk away with their share of the loot.

We're nothing to them. Just insects in their eyes. Cattle. Nothing but prey to feed their voracious appetites.

They're not even human. Maybe a subspecies of homo-sapiens, devoid of empathy, who use their complete lack of conscience as an evolutionary advantage to climb the social ladders walking right over our backs, and exploiting our conscience and our desire for orderly society to keep a lock on power.

Fuck 'em. I'm sick of playing their game. I absolutely hate the bastards. I have dehumanized them, like it or not - I don't even consider them to be anything more than dangerous, vicious animals.

I'll admit, it doesn't look good right now, the Senate is a long shot, especially with Obama endorsing this (although he may still attempt to derail immunity), but there is still the final stretch. When that Senate vote comes back aye, then you can ease up. Or move to Canada.
