Real Story Behind CIA Leak
Real Story Behind CIA Leak

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,257162,00.html

So let me get this straight: Scooter Libby is going to jail for not remembering who he told what. He didn't lie, evidently. He didn't remember right, and that is a federal crime, of course, if you happen to be speaking to a FBI agent when your memory fails.

But at the same time, the same Justice Department has taken the case of a high government official who lied, who stole classified documents, who destroyed those documents, and he's walking around free as a bird. They won't even ask him to take a lie detector test to determine if he lied more than they already know.

People are saying the Libby trial is the key to the kingdom, that it stands for the trial of the entire administration and the war in Iraq.

Here's what it was about: Does the vice president have the right to say, see that guy named Joe Wilson who is going around saying I sent him to Africa to investigate Saddam's nuke bombs? I didn't send him. His wife did.

1. Do the righties just refuse to pay attention to the evidence?

That is not what the evidence showed at the trial - matter of fact, the majority of the evidence was so classified that it was a hard case for the judge to oversee, to weigh national security interests and the interests of the prosecution and the defense to present evidence.

Friggin' idiots, every last one of 'em.

13. The evidence is the enemy, of course.
Truth has a decidedly liberal bias, after all.

2. Wow. So many things wrong with this.

A jury has determined Libby didn't "forget"--he LIED.

Cheney DID send Wilson, indirectly. The trip was in response to a question he posed.

Does the VP have the right to commit treason in a time of war? Are they kidding?

On edit--
And that's WITHOUT clicking on your RW link. :-)

3. What time of war is this?
The last time the USA was at war was in 1945.

12. Half past winnable.
Is that what you have? :-)

Just kidding. I know what you're saying; the administration never declared this war. But they certainly refer to it as a war when it suits their purposes. For instance, the president claims war powers, but doesn't have prisoners of war, only "enemy combatants"--ostensibly because it's a "different kind of war".

So I think we should do the same when it suits OUR purposes.

5. Why are you posting a Fox news story and
labeling it as the real story? Is this sarcasm? Doesn't read like it to me.

6. You post that title and link to a Fox News story?
Hoookay... um, maybe the jurors could enlighten us:

""It was just very hard to believe how he could remember it on a Tuesday and forget it on a Thursday and then remember it two days later," Collins told reporters outside U.S. District Court.

Libby was guilty before he ever stepped into a courtroom. The trial was to decide whether he was an idiot or an asshole. Looks like he's an asshole.

7. If you're joking, I don't get it.
And if you're serious, you haven't been paying attention.

Who ever said that forgetting is a crime? Forgetfulness was the DEFENSE. The jury sided with the PROSECUTION, who alleged that Libby lied.

Seriously, get a clue.

9. Aw, I would've shared mine if you'd only asked.
How come the people who come up with posts like this never have a profile? I really wanted to know more about this individual who has studied the Libby case so closely.

an absolute hit post using Fox news as the source. But I am glad someone besides me noticed. Cheers.

11. Here's the punchline...
"Personally, I'm glad they did. There was a cabal inside the CIA working against the president's policy and they wanted to hide behind their secret status while they did what was essentially an anti-war political hitjob."

Ahhhh, so there really was a good reason for completely destroying a decade-old counterproliferation unit of the CIA, putting dozens or hundreds of American lives at risk and compromising natural security.

Now I see. The author knew the real story inside the CIA. What a great cover he has--a Faux News Fucktard. Who'da ever known he was actaully a man of such importance. I just thought he was a moron who wrote drivel for a RW rag. Boy was I wrong!
