Is joking around about bombing another country (eg. Bomb, bomb, Iran) a sign of mental deficiency?
Edited on Sat Jul-26-08 11:10 PM by NNN0LHI
I mean for a presidential candidate to be joking about such a thing seems kind of sick to me. I know Reagan used to do it back when he was suffering from the early stages of dementia or Alzheimer's at the time. Wasn't he? Is that what we are witnessing with McCain right now?

I mean if he thinks bombing another country is funny he must think a belly full of pinworms is downright hilarious. Isn't someone going to discuss this?

3. They are Republicans, it's what they do.
Then again, being a Republican is a sure sign of mental deficiency, no matter the age.

As for Reagan's Alzheimer's, there are many who claim that the assassination attempt did something to him. He wasn't as sharp after that. I don't know that a wound can cause Alzheimer's, but maybe it weakened his body's ability to fight it.

Not that he was ever a decent or smart person...

5. Could you imagine if Obama did that?
McCain does it and you barely hear a peep. He always does weird things like that, then he smiles that unhinged smile he gets, it's more than a little creepy.

8. Definitely
But the real question is, are the masses that choose a public official that makes such a sick, juvenile joke their candidate for president deficient? We seem to have a mass problem in the US.

But I thought the one about killing them with cigarettes was even goofier, and of course it was Obama's fault that gas prices were high, The man is delusional, and yet there is still a large part of the population out there that would allow this person to have his finger on the nuke button. Go figure.

I thought it was stupid then... stupider now. Maybe the old geezer's brain's just stuck.

The last thing we need is another dementia patient in the White House, that's for sure.

18. it is about as funny as joking about murdering and raping little children
If Iran is bombed we can rest assured that far, far more suffering will be caused both directly and indirectly than the worst of atrocities committed by the worst of serial child murderers and rapist.

Considering the worldwide social chaos caused by both the direct violence of bombing Iran and the global economic collapse caused by bombing Iran - will undoubtedly result in countless nameless people including countless little children being murdered and raped.

To make lite of such things demonstrates either a shocking level of childish naivete about how the world really works and what war is REALLY all about, or it is pure unadulterated evil.

20. I seriously think there are some signs of senility when it comes to McCain.
He doesn't remember things, smiles and jokes inappropriately and has the fogginess about him I've seen when I worked with elderly people at a psychiatric facility years and years ago.

23. I made comments similar to this before.
How freely some Americans even end a conversation with, "I'm goin' to get my gun and shoot the sum bitch," when they're referring to their own neighbors. Someone said that it is definitely an American trait to speak of this kind of retaliation so easily.

Not necessarily Alzheimer's disease, but it's definitely a sign of mental deficiency -- though we may not have a specific name for it.

Mental deficiency regarding not being able to think about what one says and the ramifications prior opening one's mouth.
Doesn't have to be caused by intelligence waning but lack of intelligence to begin with.

at least that's the image he wants the public to see.

And some others with psychological issues agree with his sentiment and think it's funny.
