US ambassador hopes removal of North Korea from terror list won't hurt ties with Japan

The Associated Press

Published: July 2, 2008

TOKYO: The U.S. ambassador said Wednesday he hopes Washington's decision to remove North Korea from its terrorist blacklist despite Japanese objections will not hurt relations between the two allies.

Thomas Schieffer also reassured four families of Japanese kidnapped by North Korea decades ago that America will continue pressing the North to address the problem.

Tokyo says the abductions were terrorist acts and has opposed North Korea's removal from the U.S. terrorist list until the kidnappings are resolved.

"I hope (the decision) hasn't had a bad impact on the management of the alliance," Schieffer told reporters at his official residence, where he invited the families for an apparent fence-mending meeting.

2. Can you name one country that possesses nukes that is on the list?
After decades of being on the list North Korea got fast tracked off the list after testing a nuclear weapon.

You think that might be a coincidence?

4. Because if they were put on the list...
...they might get upset and nuke us. The non-nuclear countries can't do that.

5. It proves the list is only used to fuck with people who are weak and nothing else
Possessing nukes makes any country instantly unfuckwithable.
