I rarely watch Chris Matthews, but I hope that some day a guest
whose reply is being interrupted by a shouting Matthews, who clearly wants to hear himself, will just shut up. And when Matthews realizes that all of a sudden he is the only one talking, the guest will politely ask him whether Matthews is really interested in what s/he has to say, or whether the guests are just a prop.

It is very annoying to watch him. He asks a question and immediately shouts his own opinion. Like Blitzer, he is incapable of talking in a low, modulated voice. Everything has several exclamation marks after each sentence.

Poor Elizabeth Edwards once was a guest and she started talking fast just to "fit in."

This is why John Edwards was so good the other day. He was not swept in the high octave fast firing pace. He took his time and gave short and to the point answers, no matter how much Matthews wanted to elicit "headlines." This is why Keith Olbermann is so good. He gives his guests as much time as they needed to express their opinions.

I don't know why anyone is willing to be on Hardball. I think that he is rude.

Come to think of it, Jon Stewart, too, rarely gives his guests time to reply to his questions, answering for them. But in his case, he barely has five minutes for a guest and this is a comedy program.

1. "I think that he is rude"
WHat's even worse is that average people, DUers, in fact, copy his style.

For many, the objective is to shout others down rather than have a reasoned exchange, and try to bring about understanding.

So much for peace.

4. You know what I'd like to see?
A quest hand Tweety a Kleenex and say, "Here! Wipe that spit off your chin".

3. One of the reasons I enjoy KO

I have never yet watched him interupt his guests replies to a question, nor challenge them with his personal opposing opinion.
I think that's the difference between a fact finding journalist/reporter and a second class commentator who plays both ends against the middle for ratings.

9. Or a simple case of a person with class, with good manners
and someone who thinks that "in your face" behavior is the winning one.

Unfortunately, there is something to that, the way people post their obnoxious behavior on YouTube.

6. I've actually liked Tweety lately.
He's actually playing hardball with some of these hypocritical hawks. I have been especially proud of him in the past two days. Instead of letting that harpy from the National Review spew her crap, he called her out on her hypocrisy and fact checked her throughly.

He's been doing a great job as of late on calling the whole Iraq mess a waste.

10. Earlier this evening he had the reporter from TIME
about the Cheney cover story. But Matthews did not let that reporter tell him why Cheney was on the cover, what the story was. He was not a right winger, was not promoting Iraq was there, obviously, at the invitation of Matthews and then barely had a chance to reply.

7. It'd be better if the guest said just waited and, then, when asked
again, would say, "I was waiting to make sure you weren't going to interupt me."

8. I've thought this, too.
Just sit back and watch him rant and rave.

Maybe hold up a sign that says "Let me know when it's my turn." I just thought of a Bugs Bunny LooneyTune. LOL
