I'm sorry, but the FBI's case against Dr. Bruce Ivins is airtight!
Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 03:21 PM by mhatrw
  • He made his living off anthrax!

  • The envelopes used to mail the anthrax "probably" came from the very same post office that he was sometimes known to frequent!

  • He was a government employee who sometimes worked at his office after 5:00 PM!

  • He wrote a lot of letters to the editor!

  • He even wrote letters to politicians!

  • Sometimes when he wrote these letters, he didn't even sign them using his real name!

  • He tried to cover up the fact that he liked pornography!

  • He had this weird thing about this sorority!

  • He was a registered Democrat who believed in God!

  • He expressed anger at his psychology counselor for working against him with the FBI!

  • He even tried to get the FBI to consider other suspects!

  • He didn't deal with FBI's constant accusations of his being a mass murderer very gracefully at all!

  • He hasn't said one word to defend himself against all of these charges!

When you examine all of this rock solid evidence, how can you have any doubt whatsoever? Who cares that Ivins could not have made anthrax that lethal nor mailed the letters? We've got our lone nut for sure! Case closed!

31. I worked for a federal agency. In one cubicle an employee had a sign
that captured everything: "If you don't believe in resurrection, come to this office at 5 and see the dead come to life."

2. None of this proves that he wasn't just being a "good soldier" following orders...
Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 02:44 PM by rocknation
But it does prove that the "perfect storm" of 9/11, the anthrax, and the accusations against Saddam were all one big coincidence...

3. The clincher was the purchase of envelopes the were similar to those used
to send those letters. Case closed, hang by the neck until dead, next case.

4. You forgot the most important fact about Ivins
He's dead. Allegedly by his own hand, which is proof positive that he was guilty, because innocent people never commit suicide.

19. Yeah, it's like the foolproof way they used to prove that people were witches.
If the witch floats then she's a witch. Pull her out of the river and kill her.

If the witch, er, accused sinks and drowns, then she must not have been a witch after all. Oops. Sorry, but anyway we'll give you a decent Christian burial. No hard feelings.

24. Exactly
And has anyone gotten around to tallying up the suicides that have taken place during Fuckface's horrendous term of office? I know I lost one friend to "suicide," a man who'd never take his own life who mysteriously jumped from the roof of his apartment building shortly after he had decided to go public with his opposition to the invasion of Iraq. He had been a member of the National Security Council, one of Kissinger's darlings, and he had credentials out the old bung. I'll never believe that he was anything but murdered.

the handwriting on the letters to a T, beyond any reasonable doubt. :P

11. Looks bad, but
Not enough circumstantial evidence to convince me beyond all reasonable doubt.

* "Probably" came from the same post office? Probably? I wouldn't even allow that into evidence its so weak.

* Working after 5pm? Most people if offered overtime will take advantage of it. Where I work it was common to work double shifts.

* He wrote letters to the editor? What kind of letters? What were the context of those letters? Unless they were threats its not enough.

* He wrote letters to politicians? Same as above.

* Didn't sign letters with his real name. Only important if the context of those letters were threating or expressions of being angry.

* He tried to cover up his like for porn? Nothing unusual about a person being embarrassed about their like for porn.

* Had a weird thing about this sorority? Define weird and how it shows criminal behavior.

* Tried to get FBI to consider other suspects? Now that one "could" indicate guilt, but, is purely circumstantial because it would be normal human behavior for most people to try and prove they are not the ones guilty when they think they're being looked at as a suspect in a crime of this magnitude.

* Didn't deal with it in a graceful manner? Define graceful, and I would think most people would be unnerved if they were suspected for something like this.

I don't see how he could be convicted if this is all the evidence they have. I am not saying he's innocent or guilty, but, if this is all they have against him. I am sorry but that's pretty weak.

I hope he actually was guilty, because now the guilty person is gone, but, this evidence is weak.
