My 77 year old mom just told me how thrilled she is with this ticket. She pointed me to the pic above as proof of the great chemistry between these two. Said the country will be in "two very good hands, thank God". This choice has clearly won over a hard core, senior citizen, Hillary supporter.

She's catholic. She almost fell out of the chair with excitement. For her it was icing on the cake.

A lot of catholics are swing voters.

Give your mom a big hug for me! My mom still has a long way to go -- long-time Republican, Southern Baptist, leaning McCain. But she did vote for Claire McCaskill -- her first ever (AFAIK) vote for a Dem, so there's hope ... And both my parents have long wondered why the hell we're in Iraq ...
