Watching McCain right now and I was wondering...
what the procedure is if he doesn't make it to November? He looks so old and tired today - what if he keels over, who gets to head the Repug ticket?

7. Is there a set procedure? Has it ever happened?
I was born and educated in London. Came here in mid-life, so this is all 'learn as you go' for me. Is it automatically the nominated Veep?

9. I honestly don't know. Seems like the VP choice of the winner of the primaries ought to step up.
But I can't say for sure. It's possible the two parties would have different processes, since this would be set by party rules and not the Constitution. Maybe someone here will know.

3. The VP choice is supposed to be good enough to take over.
However, wonder if the GOP would revote.
