Supporting the troops Bush style: Army sending injured troops back to Iraq to fight.
http://americablog.blogspot.com/2007/03/army-sending-injured-troops-unfit-for.html

"This is not right," said Master Sgt. Ronald Jenkins, who has been ordered to Iraq even though he has a spine problem that doctors say would be damaged further by heavy Army protective gear. "This whole thing is about taking care of soldiers," he said angrily. "If you are fit to fight you are fit to fight. If you are not fit to fight, then you are not fit to fight."

As the military scrambles to pour more soldiers into Iraq, a unit of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Ga., is deploying troops with serious injuries and other medical problems, including GIs who doctors have said are medically unfit for battle. Some are too injured to wear their body armor, according to medical records.

WTF is wrong with these people? Don't they see how they are destroying the military? We need to get rid of B*sh and Ch*ney sooner, not later. January 20, 2009 is too effing late.

America with all its military might, has essentially been rendered powerless.

6. La cour des miracles
"This is not right" is the understatement of the century.

You may be beaten and broken and twisted from a previous tour, you may be maimed and unstable, but you jump out of your wheelchair and kick out your prosthetics, unplug your CPAP oxygen machine and take up your weapon. You're healed - it's a miracle - now that you're back in Iraq.

Why is this dangerous, destructive, criminal madness acceptable in the United States?

When the Walter Reed scandal broke, it makes you wonder why to cover it up they didn't just scoop up the beat-up guys in Building 18 and whisk them back to the battlefield as part of their beloved surge. They could then have claimed that the wounded soldiers had been relocated. Look at Katrina. Is it the mob running this country that has made this country so sick it can't even pretend to look after it's people anymore?

Overstretched military? Just stretch it some more. The troops have figured it out, it seems, that it's a number's racket, add they are just one of the numbers to their commander in chief. It must be pretty painful to come to that realization and have to be put through all this.

This is a major scandal. But then, there are so many in this crazy sick country now, that it almost seems normal.
