Is anyone worried about all those deadly chemicals
in the Dow plant down there in Freeport Texas? Oil spills, chemical spills and lots of water and wind. This is going to be a disaster to remember.

And getting more worried every time I hear that there is nothing to worry about.

5. On the contrary Ike is a monster
The coasts are already getting battered and Ike's not even close yet. Ike was described by at least one meteorologist as a 'freak' storm and they have no idea what Ike is capable of.

They keep saying Ike is a cat. 2 storm but the 'freak' thing about Ike is that the energy of Ike is more equal to a cat. 4.

10. Parts of Galveston are under six feet of water and Ike is
still over 100 miles away. Please get real. This is a major hurricane with unbelievable amounts of water and lots of wind coming.

3. Even my ultra right wingnut brother-in-law, who doesn't believe in Global Warming
and hates the tree huggers... had this to say

"Why the hell did they build all those refineries right there on the coast, couldn't they have run a pipeline to west Texas or someplace not hit by hurricanes every 20 years or so???"

I had to tell him that the it's my belief they put them there because it saved the oil companies some money.

He replied "bastards"

9. Pipelines for the crude oil, natural gas, etc.
rail lines for the imported dry material.

The point is that they didn't want to spend the money to ship the material far from the port of entry.
