So I asked my Republican father-in-law how he liked living in a welfare state.
His response was to mutter something about how democratic Gov. Patrick adding 2,000 government jobs in Massachusetts while the population has decreased. Couldn't help my bad self. I responded, "oh, so your unemployment rate has gone down?"

Despite the horrific state of the economy and the bailout, I am thoroughly enjoying reminding life-long republicans that this administration has done the most for socialism since Marx and Engels.

At least I've convinced him and my mother-in-law to vote for Bob Barr instead of John McCain. Wasn't a snowball's chance in hell of getting them to cast a ballot for Obama. 'Tis the same in the long run, eh?

2. Absolutely --- get them all to vote 3rd-party.
I'll cry all the way to an Obama presidency.
