6. Camp Gramps Is Cratering...

...and the Rover is right in the middle of it and not able to get control.

You've got the Rick Davis scandal that is still to play out...and this is fracturing the campaign. There's Rover's boy Schmidt who all but went postal in a phone call earlier in the week...obviously frustrated that his smoke and mirrors games aren't working. You've got the Palin fiasco that continues to unfold...not only her personal messes, but the fact she's an inept candidate that is turning into both a distraction and liability.

Then there's the many conflicts Gramps has about the financial mess...a point emphasized by his lack of an answer when asked if he'd support the current version of the Paulsen sell-out. Gramps treads on some very thin ice within his own party...many who see this sell-out as "socialism" vs. the lobbyists (many who are in Camp Gramps) who want their parachutes and the big pay-off. I can't see Gramps hearing "why not get some real regulation" from Phil Gramm...vs the "less government" conservatives who want Gramps to do little to nothing. He's dancing on a head of a pin here...and no wonder he's wanting a time out.

I long predicted this campaign would fatigue Gramps...and the pressure to keep up all the distraction would become a major distraction. I think we've hit critical max here...
