18. Jr.
but they are getting no feedback or input from McCain since he's only there for political theater.

McCain should have let this play out on its own this afternoon. It might have been over. Or not. But now his lack of leadership is standing out like a huge sore thumb.

Oh, well.

10. Both
and they can no longer outwit Dems. McPOW should have thought about this when he didn't want Bush and Cheney at the convention. Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Go Home Dems - they have finally fucked themselves in public.

6. All I can think of is that McCain ties it all in a pretty bow tomorrow,
and makes the debates, or Goodbye John McCain.

7. No. We are watching them put up an alternative they know won't come to a vote
Yet it will provide political cover. If no bill comes to a vote, then they blame the Democrats as the ones in charge. If the Dems pass a bill without the GOP, they can wholly blame Democrats for the bitter pill -any- bailout package is going to be. In the latter case, they can claim their option was superior and would have "protected taxpayers" without any fear of events or analysis proving them wrong.

12. Easy getaround
Bill comes up for a vote, Dems stage a small rebellion. Either the GOP helps it pass, or it doesn't. Either way, they're on the hook for the result. The Dem majority is small enough that it only needs a few 'rebels' to put the spotlight back on the GOP.

At this point, I'm thinking that we should probably make Paulson & Bush work through another weekend. No result tomorrow.

Republicans plot how to screw the Democrats. Democrats don't think that way.

23. No bill will come to a vote...
without the Republicans input. That is already a given. They refuse to negotiate over a bill that isn't written yet, on a 'crisis' that required immediate attention according to the leader of their party? And this is what John McCain does?

11. With bush and McCain, it's ALWAYS about politics, Never about America.
We've watched them play this game again and again. Recall the great shame of firing those lawyers? We do know how low they'll stoop. We've seen it in McShame's commericals where we saw nothing but lies. Low lifes, McShame and bush. It never changes.

16. The GOP just ruined McCain's last chance after McCain ruined them.
If he shows tomorrow he will be in no position to defend himself. He screwed up the whole deal and cannot claim that he will ever be able to get anything done.

that has always bothered me about the Republicans
It always baffled me how they could get these two contradictory groups together in the first place.
