That's a lot cheaper than flushing 700 billion down the shitter

5. where is this 305 trillion dollars going to come from?
if you don't like taking 700 billion from taxpayers, where is the 305 trillion you propose come from? BTW, the entire US budget is 3.10 trillion.

I'm curious where you got your degree in economics from...

6. We can just print it
Just have the government print it up, hand it out and watch inflation skyrocket making it worthless.

7. clearly, from the treasury printing presses
then we can all take our $1,000,000 and buy a month's worth of groceries (maybe...if the value of the dollar is still solid enough).

16. there's only one billion
not two, or billions and billions of them

We're an American board. We're coming to your town, we'll help you party on down. We're an American board, Billion is ten to the 9th, not ten to the 12th.

10. let's see
3.05 times ten to the 8th power multiplied by 10 to the 6th power. That's 3.05 times ten to the 14th power (you just add the exponents). Or 305 trillion (a billion (American) is ten to the 9th and a trillion is ten to the 12th).

By my calculation, that is 435 times more expensive than .7 trillion. If you knock it down to $2,295.08 (yes, I insist on the 8 cents dammit!!) then it would be even.

On the other hand, .7 trillion is only the gross cost, not the net. Presumably some of the purchased assets would be sold for close to break-even or some even for a gain.

Then again, when people went out and spent their $2,295.08 that would create income, jobs and taxes and thus also some revenue for Uncle Sam as it rippled through the economy.

13. And when
the economy collapses because we did nothing to resolve the nations financial problem that $2295.08 will be worth what?

20. with an infusion of .7 trillion, why should the economy collapse
the money will surely trickle up to the rich people too. Think of 10,000 customers putting $2,000 into their WaMu checking accounts.

That's my new trickle-up theory. We tried trickle down and it didn't work. It's time to try trickle-up.

I'm just keeding.

14. Except that bread will be $65000 a loaf.
I don't even want to KNOW what gas will vault to.

But this $700 billion better NOT go to any fatcat's pocket. I want bills to be handed out and margins to be called. I want these fucking CEOs to end up like Randolph and Mortimer Duke. All assets siezed, all seats on the SE taken. No exit packages, no bonuses. MORTE.

And while I'm still dreaming, I'd like a million taxes-paid dollars.

21. It's funny how chummy and benevolent the capitalists can be when they want our money.
While assuring us that it's for our own good to give it to them.
