So how does McCain prevent the VP debate next week from happening?
Per Ed Schultz, the republicans are in a panic because a mock debate and press conference with Palin was "a disaster." The CBS interview certainly wasn't helpful, so what now? InSane's ploy to prevent a debate tonight, so that they could reschedule next week's VP debate backfired badly. What does he do? roll the dice and hope that Palin walks out alive?

20. Going to repeat this every time someone talks about replacing Palin
Voting has begun. It is not possible to replace Palin, even if she steps down.

6. No matter what they say
No one is really going to buy it.
I'm starting to lean towards not only are the going to come up with an excuse to get out of the debate, but they are going to cite "family reasons" to dump her from the ticket.
They simply cannot let her go on a stage and answer questions for an hour and a half.
And after seeing her performance with Charlie and Katie, I think there is a chance that she might even pass out during the thing.....

15. I Was Thinking The Same Thing! Can you imagine the amount of pressure she is under?
She's not even a pro. Geeze, even Hillary broke down during the contentious primary's. Both she and McInsane look ill. Not very good presidential material, I'd say. She could never make it through the debate, unless she's drugged.

You know, a family only private matter that can't be verified or investigated. Plus she could cry about all of the attacks on her family.

12. I don't know what they'll concoct...
...but it won't happen.

There's no way in hell.

And judging from her Couric interview, I don't think she's too happy either.

She's in way over her head. She knows it and everyone around her does as well.

The thing is...if they try to weasel out of the vp debate, the entire campaign
will look so moronic. McCain all ready tried to get out of the first Presidential
debate. If the campaign pulls another debate 'no-show' stunt--I can't even imagine
the damage they would suffer. Plus, after the Couric sham, everyone will understand, very
well, why they are canceling.

McCain must be rocking back and forth in his chair, softly mumbling about wanting his blankey.

He didn't even want Palin. They forced her on his ticket, and now look what she's done to his
campaign. It's nuts.

18. I think she will have to go through with it (and she wants to) and that Biden will prevail
Actually I was going to say that Biden was going to eat her a new asshole - which is a phase that would not seem to anyone around here to be particularly sexist - and show her for the inexperienced fool she is. That girl is operating way outside of her league and doesn't seem to know it just yet. An hour and a half? Shit, this is going to be the best hour and a half of television in the last decade.

I agree that she has no clue that she is in over her head.
I doubt she thinks she's done poorly in her interviews. She may think she could have done a little better, but she doesn't see her performance as the joke it was. She's so self-absorbed that she is clueless about anything outside of her own little world. She's boosh on a bigger scale all over again.

28. "Any" family crisis "excuse" will set back women's place in national politics
And that sucks, imo. Joe Biden considered giving up the Senate when his wife and child died - leaving his boys motherless - but he still managed to step up to the plate and serve his state. If Palin is dropped for a phony family crisis, it will be bad for women. And if she wins, it will be bad for women.

We're screwed!
