Confirmed: Republicans to oppose any assistance to the People in the midst of this economic crisis
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 04:03 PM by ck4829
Congressional Democrats are pushing ahead with plans to pump money into the economy through a second stimulus package.

A 61 billion-dollar House plan is expected to pass the chamber later today. But a 56 billion-dollar companion package in the Senate is expected to stall because of a GOP filibuster.

The bills include cash for public works projects, along with help for the jobless and for states struggling with their Medicaid bills. They follow a bipartisan plan this winter that shipped rebate checks out to taxpayers.

The packages aren't getting support from the White House and congressional Republicans. Today's votes will likely serve as another issue to be brought up in the weeks before Election Day.

What is it that makes them want to give 700 billion dollars to Wall Street without even blinking, and then totally freak out when Democrats want to give out a stimulus package that is 8 PERCENT the size of the bailout?

7. Yes, but interestingly most of them ain't them either.
When a rich liberal votes against their interests, they're charitable. When a poor republican votes against theirs, they're just stupid.

6. Why give assistance to people that can't afford to make campaign contributions?
Never mind the election coming up, the touch screen voting machines will take care of that problem. "Get awah from here, yar bothering me."

8. Keep hammering this message.
Their hypocrisy is growing to monumental proportions. Their blind obedience to their rich masters is now too obvious to ignore. The do not give a D*** about the American people. Republicans care only about the RICHEST American people.
