I don't understand why the wingnuts actually believe Obama smears
They all seem so absolutely ludicrous

"Obama wants to create a Hitler Youth-like movement?" :wtf:

Rezko/Ayers/Wright/Arab/Commie/blah-blah/fucking-blah/ad nauseum

Why do they have to resort to smears when all they have to do is object to each of Obama's proposals

THEY'RE ON HIS GODDAMNED WEBSITE!

Is it really that hard for them to take his proposals and explain in a rational manner why they oppose them?

They act like a bunch of scared children!

1. Because they want to beleive - the last thing they want to admit
Is the fact they've been getting fucked up the ass for the last 20 or so years

They want to act as if that strap-on in their ass is just an illusion of the Liberals

3. But isn't that such a fucking waste of time
They're behind the eight ball, God bless 'em.

Shouldn't they do actual work, like indicate the flaws in Obama's proposed policies and show why McCain's positions are superior?

Isn't that how it's supposed to work?

2. Because they do not want to admit they are

racist and are trying to give other excuses so they do not have to admit they are racist. It can be fun to argue/debate those types though. By the time I am done with them they are either rethinking their whole viewpoint or sheepishly admitting it is because he is black. Those that are brought around to the realization that it is because of his race that they found it easier to believe the lies tend to get mad. Then can make up their minds without the racism or not as they see within themselves. So far those that were appalled when I pointed out their racism have swung over to Obama.

4. Well they're being dishonest, aren't they?
Is it really that hard for them to admit that they don't want a black guy as president?

12. Yes it is and for some
it is hard for them to admit to themselves and more to admit it too others. For some it causes them to search inside and exorcise that part of themselves. It is sad to see how many hide behind excuses though and how many are still carrying around prejudices. At least around here. Then again I live in a very redneck area.

6. It's meshed with a sense of helplessness, isn't it?
Like they're losing control of the country

Well shit, didn't Bush do that job enough for them a while back?

They weren't paying attention, were they?

9. It's not that they "believe" ... it's the suckers that are uninformed that
they want to believe ... and if they keep getting the spotlight to shout the lies at the tops of their lungs at 50000 watts, you can't hear the truth coming out from a source powered by an anorexic hamster ...

10. Does the word stupidity mean anything to you?
Because that's what those people are; stupid. Now I have actually gone out of my way to avoid saying that about other people since I am not the smartest guy in the world, but it's the only thing that makes sense. Those who believe the smears are just plain stupid.

11. They run like a clique
The leaders try to earn respect through being mean and running their opposition down. The followers feel safe when they don't have to form their own opinions. As long as their leaders seem strong, they are happy.

I don't think it's much more complicated than that. Kind of pitiful, really.

14. It is who they are..
Edited on Sat Oct-04-08 10:27 PM by stillcool47
it is how they identify themselves, what they've been taught, how they live, who they interact with. Self fulfilling beliefs. They have too much invested in their safety zone, their view of reality, they can't afford to let it go. Who would they be?

15. There are plenty of people who see nothing wrong in believing in things
without the existence of proof, believing in things because you need to believe them, believing in things because it's useful to believe them.
You can find people like that all over - even here.

17. Insecurity: they're afraid of looking weak
It's the same reason that so many gay-bashers are quite obviously (at least to the rest of the world) closeted homosexuals themselves. It's the same reason that Strom Thurmond had a secret black mistress and kept her secret. These are the same guys who are still getting into fights in 7-11 parking lots in their forties. These are the same people who drive monster-sized trucks because they're afraid to drive. These are the same people who, late at night at the ATM, judge people by skin tone instead of any rational criteria. These are the same people who say that "ALL of _____ type of music is bad."

These are the same people who hear you say "I don't like American Idol very much" and think it's a personal attack on them. You know the type?

For all the bluster about loving the military and getting tough on crime and going after the terrorists, they are at heart cowards, and therefore people can prey upon their fears very easily.
