Obama rally today in Asheville -- a few pics
I took a 4-year-old. She is so into Obama even though she doesn't completely understand. But she was beside herself with excitement to be there. (Got a couple of pictures of her with Obama in the background -- not posting those since I'm not comfortable posting a picture of my neighbor's kid online.) That made it that much more special having her there and explaining that she was in the presence of a great man who would likely be the next President of the US -- sooooooooo glad we got to go! (And it was fun making a few friends jealous as I called them from my cell phone to tell them where we were -- we were only about 25 or 30 feet from the stage.)

It was estimated about 12,000 people showed up for the rally! It was at the Asheville High School stadium.

There were TONS more people directly behind us and then behind them, the bleachers were full.

1. Great pics!
I wish I could have taken my little cousins to the rally last Saturday but I know them - they would have wanted to go home as soon as he spoke lol. GREAT PICS! Obama loves NC.

5. There was a very cool young woman sitting next to us who said this went on her
"pro" list. I'm disabled and she was paraplegic after an accident -- only 23-years-old ad a wonderful young woman. They let people with disabilities in first and we had good seating. There were people without disabilities who clearly faked it or were able-bodied tagalongs and were in front of us.....took a lot of us getting militant to get them to fucking sit down so people in wheelchairs could see, but they eventually did.....less out of consideration than all of us yelling at them IMO. (Not that some people with disabilities can't stand -- I can stand for short periods....but the majority who were rudely standing clearly didn't have disabilities and didn't give a shit about those who were unable to stand and were thus looking at the standees asses.)

Lovely pictures - thank you for sharing. Come on N.C.! That looks like a huge crowd maybe more than 12,000.

Good luck out there!

9. Man, 6 hours! We only had to wait 3 and a half from getting there to him speaking
Believe me, that was hard enough -- I don't do at all well in the heat -- my head was spinning by the time we left. Worth every spin!!
