This is the October Surprise...for the world. It's been Bush's end-game all along.
Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 08:09 AM by Atman
I've posted many times about this, about why Bush refused to tax his friends. They were hoarding money. Period. This was the BushCo plan all along. Why do you think he wanted us to shop (read: incur more debt to his buddies) while he and his 1% got massive tax breaks? This is "the New World Order" Poppy envisioned. They've got theirs. And ours. And they won't be made to pay it back. We will. Conveniently, just as George walks out the door.

Just as with the war, he scared the piss out everyone to get what he wanted, and now he's nowhere to be seen. The king is in the counting house, counting all his money. Because he (and his) still have plenty of it.

1. No surprise when you look at his track record. Miserable failure at everything he's headed up. n/t

2. Is he a "miserable failure?" He and his friends would probably beg to differ.
He's brought home the bacon for them. His term has been a resounding success for the 1%, and that's all BushCo ever cared about.

9. Even Some Of The 1% Are Tating A Beating Now
I think you overestimate their desire for money. They made some, but the NEVER like to lose any they've already gained.

That's what's happening now.

He's a failure, even among most of them.

And, i also think you overestimate their "plan". They have been shooting from the hip, with no strategy or plan. Things worked out by luck, and their luck ran out.

14. Why do you think Darth Cheney moved all his money to other places?
Believe me, the ones at the core of this got what they were after. They won't suffer one bit behind their compound walls, except maybe for when the caviar delivery truck can't make it in because the street is lined with angry mobs.

16. Then We'll Agree to Disagree
I'm just not buying it.

I think the whole thing was a clusterfuck, from point one to today, and even they weren't expecting any of this.

19. Brought home the bacon? More like killed the goose that laid golden eggs and has packed up the
perfect Ponzi scheme enroute to the butcher's shop. He may as well just start handing out the torches and pitchforks.
I'll stick with miserable failure, and hopefully it turns out to be a win for the remaining 99% on this planet in the long run.

22. I'm not sure you get it...are Bush or Cheney et al returning any of the money?
They didn't put it in 401ks like us suckers, dude. They got theirs and they still have it. The goose laid the golden eggs, they harvested all of them, then killed the goose and had a big going away feast.

26. No, I do "get it". I know I'll get flamed for this but, it's only money, fiat at that. What's been
lost is the confidence in their (the 1% you mentioned) con game that's gone on way too long to begin with. Bush, Cheney, et al ain't even in their league. They were just more of the wannabee tools being used and the upper 1% are now kicking themselves for pulling them out of the toolshed. Meanwhile they are working fast and furious using the Paulson tool to salvage the game.

24. Failure? He's given his handlers EVERYTHING they've ever wanted and MORE.
Permanent war.

Plundered resources.

An unregulated, unfettered corpratocracy redistributing unprecedented amounts of wealth UPWARDS.

And most importantly Grover has seen his wet dream come to a stunning climax; a government so in debt and revenue starved that it's no longer reasonable to expect it to provide a safety net for the nation's citizens. In other words the government is heading for the bathtub as we speak.

If this admin's agenda had been the safety, welfare and prosperity of ALL Americans then you would be right to call it a failure but guess what?

3. It's more than wealth. It's the power that the weatlh can buy.
Nothing can imperil egalitarianism and democracy more critically than the corruption inherent with a country's/world's wealth in the hands of just a few.

5. Hoars all
And they just got away with 700B of our money.

What pisses me off is the people around here who ought to know better are propping up the rip-off.

Working their lame excuses, while inciting the people to panic, and using what little knowledge they have to keep the sham alive.

Really, they oughtta be ashamed of themselves.

falling, bush's attempts to privatize are quite nefarious. Looks like they got the money either way.

he was gone. I'm so glad that at least they didn't get to do that.

Just like in the movies, Bush will shout:
"LOOK - OVER THERE!" and point to some near by horrific action. Then he will grab the money off of the table and run away.
