Former Debaters here?
This story is giving me debate tournament flashbacks:

Debate coaches: 'Lost' McCain must up game

Melissa Wade, Allan Louden... Remember them well. Brian Rodgers was after my time.

1. I did it briefly in high school. I quit very quickly after getting sick of flow-charting...
And all of the stupid shit they wanted me to do as a substitute for thinking.

4. Still. stock-issues analysis...
...as taught to novices, is a quick, and teachable, way to come at policy issues.

I can tell the old debaters on C-SPAN. Barney Frank lapses into 1AC-mode from time to time.

3. Both in High School and in College
I am surprised to see liberty U listed as having a strong program. I looked and did not see Liberty listed on 2008 results has having a team at the NDT. I would be surprised to see Liberty having a really competitive program given the lack of academic strength at such school.

6. LOL - You're a debater all right!
I think it's the tire gauge link that pushes us over the threshold.
