2. You do realize that all of the drapes ...
... in the WH need replacing - since Laura apparently had all of the original ones made into her outfits.

13. Bwahahahahah!!!
My inlaws were invited to an event sponsored by Laura Bush once upon a time. (I can't give details because it might decloak who they are.) They are staunch, lifelong New Deal Democrats, so it was totally a hoot that they were invited, but this was a nonpartisan event. My mother-in-law had some "Meeeeeeoooow!" things to say about Laura, including that she had to have been wearing the world's most powerful girdle.

3. McCain himself appointed a "transition committee" the first week of September
He has a lot of damned room to talk.

Poor McCain ... he's still in denial.

10. The White House comes with drapes, carpet, furniture. Obama just has to bring the family.

14. I haven't been to DC since the summer of 1980.
I was there for a national competition, and my mom, my sister, and I got a really cool tour of "Jimmeh's" White House, courtesy of a friend of the family. LOVED it.

Next summer, the RWA National Conference will be in DC, and I just might have to visit the White House again while I'm there.

18. LOL! I will! :-)
It *was* very cool to see everything. The only places off-limits were the family quarters and the West Wing. We were actually supposed to go through the WW, but at the last minute Mondale had some kind of meeting going on in there, so we had to miss it.

16. They should measure the windows, not the drapes.
Unless they're measuring the drapes to see if they can wrap W in 'em when they ship him outta there.
