I'm a lucky man .......
.... to have the business partners I have.

We had a partner's meeting tonight. We do this once a quarter or so. Since we're in three different states, we don't get together all that often ..... we see each other maybe once a month or so but only for these quarterly meetings do we all get together at the same time.

Anyway, among the topics was our SepIRAs. One of the partners makes monthly contributions. At the end of the year we allocate them personally. Prior to that, we leave that sort of thing up to this one partner.

Turns out she's been smelling an unusually large rat for a while. Instead of putting the money into this stock or that fund or whatever ...... she's been riding it on the sidelines. In cash and money market funds. Mostly cash. And some Euro based fund.

While our investments, overall are as burned as anyone's, this year's year-to-date contributions have weathered quite nicely, all things considered.

She has also withheld surplus distributions, keeping that in cash, too. We will be able to meet payroll through January, even if our income fell to zero ..... which it won't.

When you hang with smart people who think "we" instead of "me", and get into business with smart people who think "we" instead of "me", you always come out a winner.

When you vote for the same, you'll always get the same.

3. Yes you are
In contrast, the company that worked me into my stroke received my white paper on opportunities presented by HAVA to establish standards for electronic voting told me that there was no profit in working for the government(!).
