MSNBC, CNN both baselessly suggested Obama is prematurely "measuring the drapes" for the White House
http://mediamatters.org/items/200810180005?f=h_top

Summary: MSNBC's Alex Witt and CNN's T.J. Holmes each suggested that Sen. Barack Obama is prematurely "measuring the drapes" for the White House. In fact, Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, and Jimmy Carter all planned for a White House transition months before the election, and Sen. John McCain has also reportedly made transition plans.

1. The fucking media in the country is going to do everything they can
to try and defeat Obama even as it is clear to them the American people choose him.

If he loses, the people of this nation should storm the studios of all the major networks.

2. Two months would be a very short time to put together an entire cabinet
I guess you could say that Obama planning ahead shows good judgment. But no, let's just say he's "measuring the drapes" :eyes:

6. Not what I heard
Last I heard, Obama was cautioning his supporters, telling them not to jump the gun.

That is exactly what I want to hear from our next president.

8. Does it seem like she is singing when she talks?
Like she tries to get everything to rhyme before she stops talking.

It drives me nuts.

10. since it's curtains for the Bushies
I think Obama should certainly be "measuring the drapes"...

Polls indicate that would be only prudent.

I don't worry so much about the media saying this. It's their little hint that "he's got it"--in the only way they can safely say that. It puts the Repugs on the defensive, provokes them. Stirring the pot--that's always the media's goal. Make it all about conflict, aggression, competition.

12. I wish they would stop using that term. It doesnt make sense.
One doesn't measure drapes when contemplating a move. One would measure the windows to order new drapes.
