MSNBC and CNN giving McCain/Palin more free coverage to tear Obama down right now
Edited on Mon Oct-20-08 10:24 AM by NNN0LHI
They are both showing their entire stump speeches. CNN just switched to Palin now without missing a beat. Lets see how much free air time they give to Obama/Biden afterwards.

MSNBC just switched to Palin.

2. I agree..
.. I was just about to post the same complaint.

The lies over and over again. And the "Joe the Plumber" thing is getting really old.

Hell, they could just replay McSame's speech from 2 weeks ago.

3. She is just a sociopathic, narcissistic (whatever) who spews lie after lie without flinching.
I'm just amazed at the garbage can of debunked untruths she continues to throw at that insane crowd.

4. Maybe, but their hate speeches can only help Obama.
I only watch Keith O & Rachel Maddow on MSMtv.

The last thing we need though is more hate.

These stupid networks only give a sh*t about ratings and making news....what bothers me is what we are gonna be left with...an even more divided and hate filled country??

8. Republicans thrive on hate though
They have to because its all they have.

And cable is giving McCain and Palin more than their fair share of free time to spew it.

5. Watching MSNBC right now....
I noticed the same thing.

The MSM is horridly affected by what the campaigns scream at them. You gotta know that the McCain campaign
is in complete meltdown right now. They're freaking out and they're demanding that the MSM repeat their
talking points and cover every second of every rally.

McCain can't afford as much advertising as Obama can. McCain needs the publicity of free air time from
the MSM. I bet they're being the biggest bullies right now.

The whole Michelle Bachman "liberals aren't pro America" nonsense--was part of a Republican scheme to
get the media saying that liberals aren't patriotic and "pro America." Tweety said exactly this on
his show, and I think these Republican tactics pissed him off. He allowed Bachman to totally screw
herself.

I'm getting so sick of this. By watching the actions and messages of the MSM, you can know exactly
what the McCain campaign marching orders to the MSM were this morning. It's really disgusting.

10. They MUST keep beating the drums.

They can't allow the sheepies to lose interest in the election.

If people lose interest, they don't watch the news. If they don't

watch the news, they don't see the commercials. If they don't see

the commercials, the advertisers stop buying time. And when the

advertisers stop buying time, the networks and all the other media

lose revenue. THAT'S what it's all about.

15. Surely you've heard Obama is ahead in the polls.

They have to keep it looking like a close race in order to keep uninformed viewers tuned in.

Obama and Biden draw many more people at their rallies than McLame and Failin' ever hoped for.

If it looks like the vote will be a landslide in Obama's favor (and I think it will) then they

will have lost a lot of the viewers, ergo revenue.

17. These cable shows are not..
about ratings. They are about skewing our perception, to alter our reality. Create the illusion of a close race, and the outcome can be justified. Lying us into war and shit like that is their purpose.

26. And thankfully, it doesn't seem to be doing them much good
Maybe the corporate media needs to fill some programming space and don't expect anything newsworthy to happen at an Obama/Biden event? Maybe they want to see if McCain/Palin will trot out some outrageous stunt or gimmick or if some nutjob at one of their events does something crazy? If I were looking for a newsworthy story, I'd go to one of the Palin rallies every time. Who knows? The point is that all of their "free advertising" doesn't seem to be accomplishing anything other than giving them more opportunities to implode.

The crap they're spewing will not sway any reasonable person and it helps to show how extreme they are. I am not upset over it anymore.

21. I am sick of seeing Palin practically every time I turn on the TV.
Her accent is annoying the shit out of me now and I am sick of listening to her attacks and nonsensical gibberish answers to questions. I'd like to see some more coverage of Biden, they need to do many more interviews with him. He really knows his stuff and I'd like to hear his take on things more. Not just rally coverage, but more sit down interviews with Biden is what I mean.

Edited on Mon Oct-20-08 10:54 AM by NNN0LHI
...to do with what he was actually talking about and dwell on that one sentence all day long. Which they could do to anyone by the way.

But never no free air time of his speeches.

Notice that?

24. Yes, I do notice that. They hardly ever mention anything else he says unless
it can be used against him negatively. He's only had a handful of brief interviews since he was named VP nom, too. It's like the substantive, intelligent answers are boring to them so they blow it off in favor of airing Palin's attacks and gibberish.

23. don't watch because I can't stand listening to irrelvant
people shrieking to get attention.

However, this coverage isn't doing them any favors. It drives me INSANE but somehow it isn't working this year. Although now that "access" is being denied to even the rally attendees (no less by our tax dollars paying the SS), I am even more disgusted.

The only way for these cable shows to pull out of the hole the internet is threatening to put them in is to start actually reporting things other than their opinions. Honestly, who gives a shit what some washed up Survivor contestant thinks? I'm afraid it might be contagious and I don't want to catch the "dumb".

There are some whose wit and insight make them worthwhile; but for the most part, they are shrill children screaming repeated talking points at the top of their lungs. I stopped babysitting years ago and I have no interest in taking it up again.

There is a good reason John McCain calls the media his base.
