1. If you have the absentee ballot, fill it out, and walk it in..
But normally, there are request deadlines.. make sure your NOT past the deadline to request an absentee ballot.

3. That's what I did. Filled out my ballot, put it in the envelope and took it
upstairs to the Board of Elections.

7. It's supposed to be secured.. Lot of trust here with people we don't know..
but if they are fraudulent, they can go to jail.. Many have different routes.. Each state should have a "route" in which the vote is secured and how it is handled...

2. Vote by mail is generally the safest and most secure way to vote

It's very unlikely much harm can be done.

on edit: But I'd do what glowing said if you are worried. =)

5. Election polls are made up of judges from both official Parties.
No one can do much without observation. I trust those people but I most certainly do not trust the machines..

6. Check your ballot instructions
and see if you can turn in your absentee ballot in person. Here in California you can turn in your completed absentee ballot at any polling place on election day, or any early voting place. So this is what I always do because I don't want to vote on the machines, but I don't trust my ballot to get to where it's supposed to be. I guess I heard too many horror stories of absentee ballots in boxes in dumpsters. Whatever you do, be sure to read up on your options. Good luck!

8. Itis really sad that there are so many of us araid ..
and worried about casting our votes. I mean this is the one thing is ANY in a true democracy/republic that should be secure. We truly need election reform. I still don't know what to do. So far I haven't heard any probs with the machines in NJ. NJ usually goes blue anyway. Im just so damn nrevous. I can't allow myself feel joy just yet.

9. Absentee
For me, the problem with absentee ballots is that they are not counted until after the regular voting is done. Then, if the "winners" have won by more votes than the total of the absentee ballots, they don't even bother to count those votes. (Someone correct me if that's not the case)

I realize that it makes no difference as far as the outcome of the races, but I want my votes to be counted.

As above, there must be Democrat and Republican judges at the polling place. I absolutely trust our Board of Elections - Watauga County, NC. In NC, the head of the Board of Elections must be from the same party as the Governor, so our BOE head is a Democrat.
