Obama Warned of ‘Spectacular’ al-Qaeda Attack During Transition
There may be no concrete evidence of a specific plot in the offing, but political leaders and intelligence officials in both the US and Britain are warning President-elect Barack Obama that his fledgling administration may be an appealing target for a ’spectacular’ attack by al-Qaeda, as it struggles to handle a wartime transition of power.

The fears are nothing new, and indeed President Bush was predicting an attack during the transition period virtually as soon as the election results came in. But with CIA Director Michael Hayden’s words of warning yesterday about the growing threat of a resurgent al-Qaeda and comments from Britain’s Lord West about a “significant terror plot” there is an increasing focus on this what-if scenario, even with two months before Obama is actually inaugurated.

And despite Hayden’s claims about Osama bin Laden’s increasing isolation from the day-to-day operations of al-Qaeda, we also had a recent report in an Arabic language newspaper that he is plotting an attack against US interests which would “outdo by far” September 11.

2. Yeah sure, al Qaeda may be plotting an attack that would "outdo by far 911", but NO WAY
can al Qaeda outdo what the bush regime has done and continues to do in Iraq.

Now THAT is serious fucking terrorism!

And it's mostly why the world hates us.

6. I agree
AlCIAda seems to have an interest in Obama being forced to continue Bush's war on terror Bullshit.

It is still a 'miracle' that al-qaeda was able to succeed with their first attack....amazing that they were able to have NORAD stand down among other things.

16. I don't know about that...

I think the Bush administration exploited the threat of Al Qaeda to get what they wanted but, you know, I do think Al Qaeda are a legitimate threat and its naive to say otherwise. They are still a very dangerous organisation, and we shouldn't forget that.

Massive 'Homeland Defense' Joint Exercise Is Under Way
By Matthew Rothschild, The Progressive. Posted November 15, 2008.
Joint military exercise ‘Vigilant Shield,’ involving maritime, aerospace, ballistic missile defense is under way.

This week and into next, NorthCom and NORAD are conducting a joint exercise called “Vigilant Shield ’09.”

The focus will be on “homeland defense and civil support,” a NorthCom press release states.

From November 12-18, it will be testing a “synchronized response of federal, state, local and international partners in preparation for homeland defense, homeland security, and civil support missions in the United States and abroad.”

10. Who are the warnings coming from? *ss & co. They would like to
believe that 9/11 was about hating all of us when I think it had much more to do with the fact that we had just elected the oil companies guy into the presidency. I do not think they will attack Obama until they see what he is going to do about the mess *ss made in the ME. I have always thought that the 9/11 attacks were more about the war between the bush cartel and the oil countries than anything else. We will see.

If something does happen, Obama wouldn't spend the day flying around the country, finally surfacing only after dark.

Get some more of his religio-fanatics to do another massive terrorist attack.
It wouldn't suprise me. We should have cheney under 24/7 lock and key until the transition.

even though there was lots of intelligence they were in the country and planning something big. I guess he's planning on missing the next one too.

28. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
All who can see what's happening have to scream their loudest that this will not be allowed. 9/11 was an inside job and this would obviously be another one. Don't pay any attention to frightened little children, suckups to power, or agents of evil -- we have to act now. We have to convince those "warning us" that they will be held accountable, foreknowledge can only be from fore-planning. Already some PNAC signatories cannot travel freely in Europe without being afraid of being arrested. The Japan parliament is considering a 9/11 investigation. The lying, murderous sh*tf*cks haven't fooled the world.

We can't pause to try to convince those who can't see through obvious lies, their problem is psychological, facts won't reach them anyway. If this goes down, the casualties would probably be immense and include Obama.
