5. I think that last pass was not a lateral...but backwards...

so even though the Steeler picked it up and ran it in for a TD...the pass was illegal.

That was my interpretation.

and the interception touch down didn't count because possession can't change after clock runs out. I ain't no expert and don't claim to be, but that's what I've been able to gather from post-game discussion.

As long as they could lateral the ball to an open person, the play can continue ...

My question was, exactly which was the "illegal pass"? I didn't get to see whether or not the second toss to a San Diego player went forward or backward ... that's about the only place I can say they had an "illegal pass" ...

11. Sorry...

I think the last pass was not a lateral, as I stated...but according to my husband (official) who was NOT watching...he said if it was a run-back, they can't FORWARD pass it. So it would've been ruled a fumble or incomplete pass. By this time, the clock had run out.

I need to see highlights tonight...because I frankly thought the game was over and started walking away when that last play happened!

10. The first lateral was a forward pass, a play is dead upon a second forward pass

you can not decline a penalty for a second forward pass, looked like there was maybe 2 seconds at the time of it, with the countdown rule for an offensive penalty the game was over. 11 to 10.
