Fumesucker's conjecture: In society, responsibility varies inversely proportional to power.
Has anyone else ever noticed that, in society, power and responsibility basically are apportioned exactly opposite each other?

Trivial offenses that harm no one are punished by lengthy jail terms if you are powerless.

Wreck a two hundred year old system of government and kill untold thousands and you retire a plutocrat with the best security in the world for the rest of your life, gratis.

There are days when I think smoke is going to come out of my ears.

2. One bit of good news

Bush will not get security (secret service) paid for by the taxpayers past ten years.
That was another "gift" of the Repuke congress in Clinton's last days. They so hated the idea of Bill having his life protected by the Secret Service, that they changed the law. Of course it didn't affect Clinton who was already in office.
One more way of discouraging the common person from running for president.

3. A small comfort....
But exquisite irony.

Thanks I didn't know that.

4. I knew there was a perfectly obvious reason I've been pissed off for 45 years
I just couldn't see it because I was too close......

I wish we could turn this little truth upside down.
