The money that the Mormon and Catholic churches funding for prop 8
There has always been a disconect to me in the supposed moral and caring churches, and the money and effort that they waste funding wedge issues. Those wedge issues may stir deep emotions, but they do not relieve any of the suffering in the world. The money wasted to strip human beings of rights does not help in any way one dieing or starving human being in the world. And though I have many problems with religions and churchs in general, they have created outlets to relieve suffering in the world. 25 million to fund something that does not help keep someone away from starvation or serves any conceivable benifit to the welfare of mankind. Is fundamentally a waste and is money better spent to relieve fellow human beings of their disasterous circumstance

3. Oh, give it a rest
You can't feed or clothe anyone with $2.8 million dollars. What were those poor Mormons supposed to do with that money? It would have been a waste not to spend it on Prop 8.

5. You know, I'm starting to think Prop 8 was a good idea after all.
Hear me out. For a couple of years gay people can't get married, then the law gets overturned and there's a period of time where people can get married. Then the Mormons can fund another proposition and we go through it all again. Each time, Mormons can send millions of dollars to the state of CA and give it to ad agencies, printing shops, TV stations, radio stations, etc. Thanks Mormons! It passes again, we overturn it again, rinse and repeat. If we go through the cycle enough times maybe we can bankrupt the Mormon church!
