4. Couldn't say anything about that, because their response would have been...
self-defense! squawk! self-defense! squawk!

I went with the one that offered the smallest rejoinder window.

9. Those of us that are responsible gun owners don't shoot each other on accident.
The only time I take my guns out are during hunting season, weekly cleaning, and if the dog starts barking at 1 am for no apparent reason.

And if the dog starts barking, it is a shotgun loaded with buckshot that makes it appearance. Won't penetrate the exterior walls, but will do a job on anyone who decided to come into my house uninvited.

The other half is behind me in the bedroom, phone ready to dial 911 for an ambulance, and I am headed down the stairs to investigate the noise.

I have been lucky and only had to threaten to use it once, and then the only thing that happened was I had to clean up where the young man soiled my carpet when he found himsef looking at the business end of the shotgun.

24. Unless you come into my house or try to leave with my stuf, you have nothing to worry about from me.
The cops might want to know why you are in my tree though, and they are persistant little buggers about that sort of thing.

I thought you canker sores from the Heartland lived peaceful lives. Who knew. It's ALWAYS folks from those so-called 'middle-America' states where the paranoia runs deepest.

us.

See how simple it is?

14. I don't know why either.....
...since I own a couple of them myself. Either way, it's my firm belief that President Obama respects the Constitution and each and every amendment.

16. I hope he does too. But I don't understand how he can continue to support AWB reauthorization.

That position is inconsistent with his current stated stance on the 2nd Amendment IMHO.

19. Buy them now, you can own them - they will be grandfathered in
and then their price will increase when the ban goes into effect and you will have collector's items.

Don't sweat it.

20. When someone ask me how many guns do I own.
I tell them "more than I need, but not as many as I want".

The conversation usually ends right there.

22. I don't want yours either - but I would like an MP3 of a 12 gauge being cocked.
I can set it up on the stereo so it'll play if someone enters the house without punching in a code on the alarm.

Kind of like Steve Martin with the dog recording in "LA Story".

26. I've lost count of how many we have here...
Mr Pip is a retired police officer who always kept guns while he was on the job because of the numbers of dirtballs who threatened to kill his family (three daughters and a wife before me).

I'm comfortable with them being here. He's an excellent shot and handles them safely.

I'm even a pretty good shot myself, although my sharpshooter skills really only involve my own Daisy bb gun....ha ha. I may not be able to shoot to kill, but I'll put yer eye out, bigod....
