Its worth having Sen. Clinton as SOS just to watch ate up drunks like Chris Hitchens heads exploding
Chris Hitchens was just on Tweety crying like a baby at the thought of the Clinton's back on the world stage. Its killing him. Chris is stuck in perpetual sniffing Bills Fruit Of The Looms mode. He just can't quit. He looked wild-eyed over it.

I think it is funny as hell.

And that totally makes me suspect.

8. You know, I tried to like the Clintons. That didn't work. I tried to hate them. That didn't work..
Edited on Mon Dec-01-08 07:44 PM by MookieWilson
now, I respect them. I've met people that have worked with them and like them enormously.

It's just creepy how folks hate them so.

13. I like the Clintons
I honestly think they are good people

But, like all of us, they are human

They fuck up

Of course with Dubya all he could do was fuck up

But the Clintons also can produce gold

If you don't think so I have one word: Ireland

Nuff said

He never dodged the press. Not once.

And the Ireland stuff always impressed me. I've been there and they just love him.

Remember the speech King Hussein gave at the end of his last trip to DC to see Bubba? That was an amazing speech about how much the world loved Clinton, how he appreciated that Clinton did more than ANY predecessor to get Mid-East peace, and he-Hussein-had worked with every president since Eisenhower. He extended regards and praise from Mandella to Clinton as well.

I regret that Bubba didn't have his press conferences on in prime time and more folks would see how super smart he is. I saw him as the only guest on the Letterman show a few years back and he was very impressive.

But, from the get-go, I saw that it was conservative DEMOCRATS that prevented him from being a more progressive president.

19. I'm sorry but I don't respect the Clintons.
Bill is a sellout and Hillary lost me with her anything-to-win campaign strategy. It was so... Ethically bankrupt.

But at least she'll be doing the bidding of Obama. I hope she works hard for us and I hope she regains her sense of ethics.

27. Exactly
I don't trust the Clintons but I do trust Obama and I am willing to give her a chance because Obama is. Hitch was right in saying that Susan Rice would have been a way better SoS pick but at least she will be the UN envoy.

as SOS results in something more substantial tham making someone's head explode. If she did a good job and right wingers loved it, I would prefer that.

12. If I were Joan Walsh I wouldn't want to be having drinks with Christopher Hitchens
Recall that in the 90s, Hitchens tried to give up his *good friend* Sidney Blumenthal to the Ken Starr inquisition (on totally bogus grounds of course). But the point is that his hatred of the Clintons is such that he tried to have his *friend* put in prison in order to get at the Clintons and suck up to the VRWC. You don't have drinks with someone like that.

A guy like that shouldn't have friends -- and at this point he probably doesn't. He shouldn't have social acquaintances either. Just let the smelly, impotent drunk rot away on his own.

17. Mark my words,
Hitchins will drop the World's Most Foremostest Atheist Agitator Guy persona and join the OMFG!! The Clintons are BAAAAAAAACK!!! crowd.

Hitchens is a big fan of killing Muslims and he is beginning to realize that hasn't scored many points with Atheists so now he'll join the Clinton-haters and maybe sell a few books and draw some support for his main cause, continual mid-east war.

21. Yeah what you said.
You're right, he hasn't earned points with the atheists, because of the drunken rants. Most atheists I know aren't intolerant. Quite the opposite.

So yes I think you're right again, he will probably find comfort in the arms of fellow hatemongers.
