Sniper gets 80 years to life in prison
BY TODD COOPER
WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

Kyle Bormann, who fired the sniper’s shot that killed Brittany Williams, was sentenced this morning to 80 years to life in prison.

Kyle Bormann

Douglas County District Judge Gerald Moran sentenced Bormann, 20, for the Jan. 20 shooting of 21-year-old Williams as she sat in the drive-through lane of the KFC/Long John Silver’s restaurant at 7001 N. 30th St.

The sentence means Bormann must serve 40 years before he is eligible for parole. Because a life sentence was the maximum term imposed, parole is the only way he can be released from prison.

In September, a jury found Bormann guilty of second-degree murder and weapon use for the shooting.

From 110 yards away, Bormann took aim through a high-powered scope and hit Williams, a woman he had never met, in the head.

FULL story at link.

Brittany Williams was a beautiful young lady with a very bright future.

2. Bormann? Any chance he's related to Martin Bormann?
They sure think alike.

3. Not that the beautiful deserve more sympathy, but here

This is the radiant Brittany Williams, next to the inbred Bormann.

13. That's exactly what your post implies...
I know this isn't the right place, but damn.. there is nothing wrong with being less than beautiful.

That said, I hope that fucking piece of shit enjoys his stay.

Angry at black people.. ptuh.. no sympathy.

6. I doubt pretty boy will survive 40 years in prison
especially after word gets around about why he's in prison.

11. The Aryan Brotherhood will take him in.
He'll be covered in tattoos and working out in the yard with the skins in no time.

Regardless, not breeding most importantly.

7. He should have gotten life in prison, no parole.
He took a life therefore he should give up his life via life in prison forever.

14. You know the saying.. an eye for an eye...
i think he deserves every day in person..
that said, the compassionate person in me can't help but think.. he is only 20. there is a good possibility that within 40 years, he will have seen why what he did was absolutely atrocious.

10. Easier to prove.
With 2nd, they merely needed to prove that he killed her on purpose. With 1st, they'd have needed to prove premeditation. He was apparently drunk as hell during the shooting, so there was a question about whether it was planned or just a drunken whim. The victim is dead either way, but the difference between 1st and 2nd is intent.

15. Reverse the ethnicities and I believe...
...both the charge and sentence would have been more harsh.
