Edited on Wed Dec-03-08 07:24 PM by KoKo01
It makes me sad that so few here on DU and out on the Blogosphere have responded to calls from "FREE PRESS" to hold Obama's Feet to Fire over Federal Communication Systems Chair!

What's wrong with you out there? Since "Selection 2000" we on the "Intenets" have been fighting to "TAKE BACK OUR MEDIA!"

JAYSUS...THE "PALIN/JEB MEDIA" is what's LED US DOWN THIS DARK ROAD TO HELL!

PLEASE! ANSWER THIS POLL and GET IT TO OBAMA!

GO HERE TO VOTE:

https://secure.freepress.net/site/SPageNavigator/wanted

AND...go here to SEE WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=4578423&mesg_id=4578423

PLEASE DO IT...only 8,000 so far even care about why Ruppert Murdoch and Faux News and Limpballs and the REST managed to CORRUPT OUR ELECTIONS!

It's the least we can do........Please do it..

Respectfully..KoKo01 whose been here on DU for ages...fighting for TRUTH AND FAIRNESS IN OUR MEDIA!

2. Signing an online petition is not "voting". Nor is failure to a sign I "don't care."
But thanks for insulting me for what I assume is a good cause.

17. Bucky....it really is for a good cause. "Free Press" has been out there with us for years..
I respect you opinion to not answer one more poll or sign a pettion...but this is a poll to go to Obama...it takes little time...and I do believe you must care about the issues in this poll as much as I and the rest of us who have been fighting for Media Reform since Clinton Impeachment (where's the Bush Impeachment) and have watched our Mainstream Media and Radio Medi decline as long as I have and WANT CHANGE!

I understand your reluctance...but I can't give up the fight. Maybe I'm just a DREAMER...but I support organisations who are still keeping up the fight for fairer and real balanced media. The total control of our media by RW Think Tanks and Religious Fanatics is at the HEART of what's gone on with our Political system that allowed the "Media, Military, Industrial Complex" to TAKE OVER OUR COUNTRY AND OUR LIVES!

Peace to you...Do what you want...

6. I was one of the 8,000
I remember that specific poll because I voted for more than three and was told that was a no-no. I had to go back and eliminate five choices.

9. This was BushCo's first agenda item. Now it's our turn.
Edited on Wed Dec-03-08 09:54 PM by joeunderdog
Bush rammed through his media consolidation changes in the face of bipartisan opposition just after he got into office. Seemed un-American at the time. But it's no coincidence that taking this mountain was his first mission and now it must be Obama's to take it back and deconsolidate. The media and the judicial branch are the controlling influences in selling and instituting an agenda. Control them and everything else falls into place much more easily. Just think about how instrumental "keeping on message" was in selling the war, fighting bullshit terrorism, tearing up the constitution and stealing elections without anyone saying a bad word about it...

TAKE BACK THE MEDIA. Then we can make real changes.

10. I'm glad you reposted this, koko01. Kick to get it back up.
Just one point: we were not selecting "qualifications" as the introductory wording asked us to do. We were stating priorities, as the second page stated.

I know, picky, picky, picky.

11. I gave up on online petitions a long time ago. They're never noticed.
It's just a "feel-good" gesture that's pretty meaningless. Sorry.

18. Thanks for speaking up 'cause I had no idea. Couple questions though before I hit the button
Can someone explain the importance of these 2 issues?:

Increase licenses for low-power FM stations nationwide

and,

Create open access standards for mobile phone networks

19. Click around their site for some info:
http://www.freepress.org/

They've been around working for years to try to get a fairer media and access to get more "local shows" on the FM Bandwidth that was abandoned.

If clicking around the site doesn't work for you then just Google the issues you asked about. There will be some links that will give you the history.

Short Answer: If you think that Radio is filled with RW Hate Media and totally Religious Stations and that Fox Network, CNN/MSNBC and the Networks are doing a great job in coverage of news...you probably don't need to vote in that poll from "Free Press."

If you are unhappy with TEE VEE and RADIO OFFERINGS then you need to vote in that poll to express your displeasure.

I hope you will check out the site and vote. Thanks for asking.

but the 3 I picked were also the top 1, 2 and 3 choices.

23. Interesting issues people are chosing...
Net neutrality and breaking up conglomerates both are scoring high 70% with stopping propaganda next pulling only a 40% share.

Glad I chose the top 3 as my issues, but, I find dropping propaganda in favor of some of the other issues troubling.
