Thank you, Rachel.
Rachel Maddow just mentioned the "30 mile long debris field on the Texas Coast left 2 and a half months after Hurricane Ike, 3 years after all those supposed lessons learned when New Orleans was left to drown."

Thank you Rachel, for remembering us.

1. She's great but her theme music sucks
It sounds like she got the same musicians/artist from David Gregory's road to the white house.

I really think her theme music sucks as an afectado of music.

Never the less she is still one of my favorite shows that I watch.

2. She had a longer discussion on this last night
and I started a thread with the article she mentioned.
That article was shocking.

3. K&R. We can always count on Rachel.
She's got an incredibly sharp mind and remembers the important things that others forget... :patriot:

7. I also just read that Obama remembered us too....
Fucking Rick Perry says we're "alright."

"President-elect Barack Obama has not forgotten about Galveston. During a meeting Tuesday with the nation’s governors, the future president asked Rick Perry how island residents were recovering from Hurricane Ike’s devastation.

Obama: “How are the folks in Galveston doing?”
Perry: “Alright… FEMA's slow. We'll talk to Janet about it.”
Obama: “She she she's going to whip it into shape.”"

8. Oh, for Christ's sake!
Someone should do a major story about this. Anderson Cooper? He's not exactly my favorite, but it seems to be a signature issue of his... But we can expect follow-up from Rachel, and it also sounds like a story that Keith could get behind... And neither of them will listen to anything from Rick Perry, except to show how clueless he is. :eyes:

Obama seems to be pretty clued in, unlike Bush*. KO reported tonight that he's already receiving more intelligence reports than Bush* is, even now... I sure hope he gets the ball rolling on these "forgotten" issues, since thousands of hurricane survivors are still in desperate need of help, but he seems to be getting a real head start on everything...:-)

11. I imagine he has. And it's not just people in the Gulf states that are concerrned...
How this country continues to elect such bozos is totally beyond me. You'd think people would be sick of Republicans after BFEE...:eyes: The fact that Saxby Chambliss won totally boggles my mind...

10. We are a broken country and it shows. Very sad and frightening that
we can't depend on help when faced with a disaster.

12. I haven't forgotten you, Lisa!
 I know all-too-well what you all are going through. Katrina nearly killed me--and I only experienced the aftermath. I was also very... happy's not the right word, but grateful that Rachel mentioned it. The photos look pretty much as I thought they would, comparable to what I saw in Mississippi in November/December '05. Anyway, just sending some love your way, my friend.
