impossible to deny.

He whupped Congress' ass for giving $700B to banks from whom they never got answers about the risk to taxpayers, who produce nothing, who lost $7Trillion, and Congress did not bother to make provisions to track the money to see how it was being used.

But they won't give $35B to the auto industry, who they Inquisitioned, and who actually produce a product!!!

4. There was only one worse car. The Pacer.
Now that car was more suited to being a fishbowl.

AMC did have a sort of reverse attraction. I owned a 1961 Rambler American convertible. What a death trap.

We're lucky we got to experience the AMC phenomenon.

8. I just realized I had sexual relations in the back seat!!!
And that was a very small area, what with all the convertible mechanism. :)

I remember the day the front suspension became disconnected, and the top was stuck down, and it started raining. :(

That was not a car, but it was an experience. A toaster on wheels.

A white Rambler convertible with a red interior.

I wish I had that car today. I really loved it.

12. I remember the Pacer... I wanted one of those when and if I ever learned how to drive, LOL.
I liked the big windows. :-) A lady that I worked with, back in the '80s, bought a used one and she let me drive it... I was thrilled.:D

13. Very technically, not that most people realize this
The TARP does have oversight... guess what? The person appointed to the job has not been confirmed, and there is a lone hold up. We have no idea who... but I am betting on Chamblis... he is a world class champin douchebag

But his point is very well taken. and this is class warfare, pure and simple

Thanks! But what is wrong with Charlie?! Has he been to the vet? What did he say?:scared:;(

My pup has also been quite ill. I was scared to death last night and rushed him to the vet. He gave him shots and meds to bring home (wish me luck with that...), said it's a virus that's "going around..." He's better today, is right next to me and says hi...;(

19. My dog's name is "Lucille." She's an Airedale.
She started to vomit about 2 weeks ago. My vet initially said she had an intestinal virus. After she was medicated, he stopped vomiting but also stopped eating. Last Friday, my vet was concerned enough to have me rush her to a local Emergency Vet clinic (a place that has both happy and sad memories for me). "Lucille" had to stay the entire weekend and was on an IV the whole time.

He came home Monday morning, but had to go back to my vet later in the day. Yesterday, I brought her to internal med and cardiology specialists where they did an ultrasound of her. She has a heart murmur, but the cardiologist says it's not significant enough to worry about yet. However, the IM vet said he might have intestinal cancer, so I brought him her back today for an endoscopy in which they gathered a bit of his intestine tissue for a biopsy. I'll know the results next week. He's normally 95 lbs, but is down to 72. He's very sick and I'm so afraid of losing him. It's a very, very bad time in my life right now, and to lose him now would be... devastating.:(

Say hi to your dog for me. What's his name?

21. Jesus. I am so very sorry.
An Airedale was my pup's BFF, one of the big ones, and I loved him too, a very sweet dog. ;(

What my dog has is also an intestinal virus, terrified me because there was a lot of blood in his poop, but the vet didn't seem especially concerned, so I felt better. But I sure don't now.;(

I've had a lot of experience at the local Animal Emergency Clinic, great people, but it's expensive and I'd give a great deal never to have to go there again. They once kept my dog for an entire weekend, as well, but I lost her anyway.;(

We will be thinking of your precious dog. If anyone does, I sure know how it is. I am just so horribly sorry, can't help crying for those I have lost and for my little dog's buddy who he misses a lot.;(

It's a very dark time in my life now, as well. Caring for my pup keeps me going most days. I'd have nothing if I lost him, too. Please give Lucille a hug from me, and tell her that she's on my mind. My pup sends love and positive thoughts, as well.;(

Also, if you ever need a second opinion, I know lots of vets, one who has brought several of my guys back from the abyss because he never gives up. He also offers alternative medicine, got my 18-year-old cocker walking again using acupuncture. He's also given advice to those on DU. Liberals love animals...:-)

And this is my Jack. I used to have videos of him, but just have a few pix now. This is one of my favorites.:loveya:

Rhi;(

23. Except: The banks have a "product" that consumers want: loans
while the cars being manufactured in Detroit: how many people are now for a market for them?

Don't get me wrong. Not helping them will send us into a deep deep recession. We have to help them because of us, not because of them. Because of the long waves that their bankruptcy will affect so many small towns and millions of workers.

But the bottom line is: if you get the funds to.... continue make cars, who will buy them? Don't you already carry heavy inventory?

And this is why I think the $35B should be taken from the $700B to offer loans to people who are in the market for a car. And offer a tax credit for the ones who purchase a new car from them.

24. Excellent ideas. Bush has said he would veto any legislation that takes the
$35B out of the TARP money.

Hopefully this will all come to pass when Bush is back in Texas and we finally have REAL president in the White House. We will also have a bigger majority in the Senate and the House. That will make things happen a bit faster.

25. They claim that they may not last to Jan 20
which is why some Congressman suggested to give them a temporary loan, to be revisited after the new President and the new Congress call the shots.
