If the MN senate seat goes to the US Senate, will the dems all support Franken?
or will some peel off and vote for Coleman? During the campaign, I got the impression that quite a few dems were not all that happy to see Al even running..

I think Al will take this to the limit..he;s fighting for Wellstone's seat, and he never quit..

1. He was a friend of Paul's, and I think he's made it his mission to take the seat back

Al always came to Minnesota to campaign for Paul and to help motivate volunteers.

2. If Coleman has more votes, then they should vote for Coleman
And if Franken has more votes, vote for him.

4. What if Coleman has more votes ...
But..... there are still about 1000 absentee ballots that should have been counted that were rejected and there were 133 votes "lost" in a precinct that voted for Franken? This is not as black and white as you would make it out to be.

3. yeah, there are quite a few puffed-up peacocks there
who don't think he is "serious" enough for that collection of clowns :) Not to mention the resentment some fools harbor over him not taking their concerns as the most important in the world, when in fact he did talk about reasonable and provable voting. But that enrages the tin-foil hatters amongst us :P

5. i imagine it will depend on the facts
if coleman tries to take it to the senate because the state declares Franken the victor, then I suspect he'll have unanimous repub support, and possibly lieberman, but the rest of the Dems probably will stand with Franken.

If Franken is the one challenging the result, then I suspect the repubs will be united against Franken and its entirely possible that enough Dems will vote to uphold the state's determination that Coleman won.

6. If Coleman wins the recount..
.... they'll vote Coleman en masse. Nobody wants to overturn an election.

7. Oh, I dunno. Maybe just this once....
It wouldn't start to make up for past sins such as Chambliss stealing his seat from
Max Cleland, but it would be a nice token.
